Ahhh, Easter morning. And what a beautiful day it was. We started with breakfast at Maxie's, a diner around the corner, then returned to Central Park for more pics, and so Mrs. CB could take a leak:

Easter Morning in Central Park )

Okay, for the next set of pics, I need to explain something first. I am a big child. Seriously, that movie Big? I am that character without the benefit of a magical fortune-telling gypsy game. Those who have met me can attest to this. Thereofore, it was with a big squee that I found FAO Schwarz.

Gimpy Dyke in a Toy Store )

After FAO, we went to the Stage Deli for lunch. You have to wait OUTSIDE and if the man tells you not to move, you better not fucking move. I had a turkey reuben and a root-beer float (no bourbon) and Mrs. CB had a tuna melt-the "Eartha Kitt" if I remember correctly. We could barely eat half of our food. Sandwiches as big as your head!

After lunch, we hurried back to get changed to go to our show, Avenue Q.

Me Pimped Out for Broadway )

The show was hilarious! Songs such as: Everyone's a Little Bit Racist, You Can Be as Loud as the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love), Schadenfreude, and my fave, The Internet Is For Porn. If anyone wants to hear these, or any of the others, lemme know and I'll hook you up. I would like to say, that I still can't get the images of puppets having hot sex out of my mind...

After the show, the actors came out to collect for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a cause very dear to the hearts of Mrs. CB and myself. They offered an auction that would include 4 autographed show posters, a backstage tour and the opportunity to be photographed with several of the puppets. This particular show was dedicating their collections to help in the battle against breast cancer. I am proud to say that Mrs. CB opened the bidding, and though we didn't win the auction, we did buy four autographed posters. Now I just need to find frames and re-arrange the others we have to make room.

We finished out our time in NYC by taking the Night Loop Tour around the city and over to Brooklyn. It was actually a twilight tour which I preferred because I could see things much better.

Night Tour Pics )

We had a final fantabulous meal at Ruth's Chris Steak House, more for it's location (right around the corner) and it was great! Big juicy steaks, wine, bread, too bad we were actually too full to get dessert. But I got that back at the hotel ;)

Monday morning we packed up, grabbed free nosh in the hotel lobby and headed out to LaGuardia where Mrs. CB was promptly searched by security as I stood on the side, snickering. We had a great flight home and Mrs. CB found her inner New Yorker when she honked while waiting to get out of the parking lot. A moment of pride, people.

So now we are home and the boys are still trying to decide just how pissed they are that we left them alone for so long.

I just got a call from my new supervisor-she had a full-time dayshift position open up and wanted to know if I would rather do that, or part time 2nd shift. First of all, how cool that she called me before posting it online or in the paper? Second, hell yes, I want it. M-F, 10:00am-6:30pm...no evenings (except for vaca coverage), no weekends, no holidays. NO 4:00AM WAKE UP CALLS!!

Better hours, better money, better benefits. I so LOVE my new job and I haven't even started.
