“This is going to cost you. You do know that, right?”
“Yes, I know. Now sign the damn thing. We are time critical here.”
“Wait a damn minute! Signing this could lead to serious career ramifications in the future. I want a down payment before I even pick up a pen.”
With a sigh of frustration, Abbie walked around her cluttered desk and kissed the woman-hard. Stepping back, she placed a pen in the doctor’s hand and said, “Melinda, please. Sign it.”
When the medical examiner handed over the signed document, Abbie hit the speed dial on her cell.
“ Agent Hammond? I’ve got it. Let’s get Cabot moved.”
