Weekend!!!!!!!

Home from work and the pool. I haven't been swimming in almost 2 months. I popped a few stitched through my incision (prettay!)and had to wait until it healed, then I got my annual sinus infection amd really, pool + snot = unprettay. And if I go to the pool right after work...no one is there. :)

I did not have to pull out the , but my boss and I are still frustrated with the shipping situation (long, boring, labby kinda story). I swear, one of these days... /Milton.

I have to go get Mrs. CB's bday present tomorrow. I hope she likes cafe latte colored whores as much as I do. I think we will go out for a nice dinner this weekend for both our bdays since I was kinda incapacitated for mine. And not in a fun way.

Oh, and I should mention that my beloved, overly-intelligent, non-legal spouse had a letter to Teh Editor printed in yesterday's CD.
Candidate has weak grasp of basic science

I have been a science teacher for 23 years, and I don’t think I have ever seen a letter to the editor that so completely misrepresents the principles of science as the one by Glenn Elder on Sept. 22. The most frightening part is that he is running for the Whitehall Board of Education!

First of all, there is a process that provides theories. They are first proposed as hypotheses, then supporting proof (evidence) elevates them to the status of theory. Elder’s contention that theories have no evidence to prove that they are true is completely wrong. Just as a proposal becomes a bill becomes a law, so, too, does a hypothesis become a theory.

Second, the theory of evolution does not claim that man evolved from apes. It says that man and the great and lesser apes share a common ancestry, as evidenced by the 98 percent similarity in our DNA.

Third, the study of fossils is not based on man-made theories. The study of fossils is part of a branch of earth science called paleontology. It is considered basic research that is carried out for the sake of furthering our knowledge base. Applied research is done in the pursuit of solutions for problems.

Therefore, his insistence that science is a man-made religion is also completely wrong. If we all woke up tomorrow and there were no more problems to be solved, we wouldn’t need science anymore.

I fear that it has been quite a long time since Elder sat in a science classroom. He will not find an altar around which the children are forced to kneel and pray. He will find critical thinking and problem-solving based on theories that have been proved over and over.

Most new theories meet with years of skepticism before they are accepted by scientists. And, for the record, the Earth is not the center of the universe and all matter is made of elements, not earth, wind, fire and water.

Come to my classroom anytime. I only wished she would have called him a fucktard.

It is really nice out. The first real cool day we have had. I have most of the windows open and the boys are very, VERY happy. Aghh! I just checked and it's only 62 degrees out and it's windy. I may need to follow [livejournal.com profile] aqua_blurr's lead and put on socks. However, I will NOT attempt to moonwalk.

Mrs CB totally rocks.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes she does!

[identity profile] bluepoet.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay Mrs. CB!!!

And wtf is your problem, dude? Ger your moonwalk on already!

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Shit girl...I can barely earth walk let alone moonwalk. I swear, some of the newer peole at work must think I come in drunk because I stumble now and then (nerve issue with foot, but not perm.)

[identity profile] bluepoet.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, yeah...the bad back and all. Dude, someday, we're gonna see you shake your groove thang.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! We think that's how this most recent pinch happened. I was dancing in the livingroom to the music at the end of The Incredibles.

I am taking the wife dancing next week :)

[identity profile] bluepoet.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Slow dancing is nice and all--sometimes it's REAL nice--but c'mon. You gots to do more than the Macarena someday. :) That's my hope for you and your back, anyway.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh it wasn't slow dancing. I am known for my dancing talents. I wish I had the pic of me in a hula skirt when I was, maybe 5?

[identity profile] bluepoet.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I meant for your upcoming dancing with the Mrs. I know that if you got injured that it was through some twistin' and shoutin'. :)

[identity profile] artskat.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Screw the moonwalk. Do the HOKEY POKEY!

**Put your left boob in. Take your left boob out. Put your left boob in and you shake it all about**

(whoa! Be careful that you don't put out an eye with those things, though!!)

[identity profile] lietya.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That is an *excellent* letter! (What a scary, scary man he must be.)

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
What is scary is that I had no idea what she was referring to. I really need to get on top of local current events.

[identity profile] stephbrandes.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Happy B-day Mrs. CB!! Nice panties BTW:)

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, and thank you.

the birds fly the coop on the morrow

Mrs. CB rocks!

It's 100 degrees here. Right now.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry about your heat ;)

I love having a teacher for a partner...authority figure fetish ya know ;)

[identity profile] aqua-blurr.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I will NOT attempt to moonwalk.

Good, I recommend against the moonwalk for gimps. Gimps should stick to the less injury-inducing Side-to-Side-Whitebread. Ahhhhhhhh, do the Whitebread!

Mrs. CB rocks. She can try moonwalking. With supervision, of course.

...labby kinda story...

Say no more. We've already had one Pussy story today.

Whaaaat?

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I am taking her dancing next week which will consist of her jumping up and down in placa la la Tigger, and me standing alongside the rail looking sexy.

I saw the Pussy story. I felt mislead ;)

Aww .. I <3 Mrs. CB...she rocks! Anytime you get too grumpy ... just direct her my way ;-)

[identity profile] lostingeekdom.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaaaargh.. I keep forgetting to log in at work. so I guess I can now play creepy anonymous stalker.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)

Mrs CB: Very nice letter, you kicked some letter-to-the-editor ass there. :)

CB: Pink? Your grouchy underwear is PINK? I expected more of you...

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2005-09-30 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
They were a gift. The Cookie Monster ones are lavender.

[identity profile] jandyle.livejournal.com 2005-09-30 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose when you have been a kept woman for a while you don't have as much choice.

(They are cute though, even if they are pink)
