Mrs. CB had an unexpected day off today courtesy of a coked-out bus driver. This guy was on his way to pick up a load of kids! I'm glad they finally got around to enforcing the background checks, but this is yet one more example of Superintendent Gene Harris not knowing how to run things.
It does look as though education's loss is my gain: there are sirloin steaks, broccoli, mushrooms for sauteing, caramel and chocolate cheesecake in the fridge and wait, oh yes...a few additional bottles of wine in the wine rack. Good eating at Casa CB's tonight.
Not much else going on. Bruin is suffering from a touch of jealousy these days. Normally, when I retire to the boudoir in the evening, Bruin lays on Mrs. CB's side of the bed, forcing her to sleep in the spare room with his "Glare of Doom". However, the past few days when he has jumped up to take his spot, someone else is already there-and no, it's not Mrs. CB- it's Asher, my new little (rotund) shadow-s. Bruin and Asher like each other, so it often results in kitty Love Shack, but sometimes, Bruin thumps the gray boy on his head and steals back his spot. At least they help keep us warm.
Okay, off to start dinner. It's gonna be damn cold tonight. Thank god for fleece monkey jammies.

Hell yeah. I was recently at the receiving end of a similar windfall and the extra time off put her in a good mood. Unfortunately there were no steaks, cake and wine involved...
