Five Long Days...

of fever, coughing, snotting and, you get the picture. I left work early Wed after rapidly developing a fever. Today is the best I've felt since then. And it wasn't the stomach flu, so I can't even enjoy a small weight loss. In fact, it was a Carb-Craving Flu...crackers, bread and Oreos.

I am feeling much better, no doubt due to Mrs. CB's diligent and loving care (insert "awwww" here), and my best friend, Liquid Smurf Tylenol. That blue shit is the bomb! And five cuddly little bastards taking turns keeping you warm...I love those cats! I can't wait to have a glass of wine, it's been weeks!

In between the eleventy hundred hours of sleep I had, I watched most of the Star Trek movies. I am probably in the minority here, but I think TOS OTP was Kirk and Bones, not Kirk and Spock. Something about the way McCoy growled, "Dammit Jim!" led me to believe that the nickname "Bones" may not have been a take on McCoy's profession...just saying! And I kept looking for someting between Crusher and Troi in TNG, but they just didn't get enough screentime. So I resorted to fanfic...of course. Anyone with recs for TNG, send them my way.

And speaking of fanfic, I am still undecided on which story to write for Passion and Perfection's "Epic Proportions" challenge. What would you, an eclectic group of fic readers, prefer to read?

[Poll #906870]

I have two stories I want to write, I just can't do them both before April. Honestly, I'll be lucky to get the one done.

Back to watching old school science fiction. Next up is "Space:1999". I love the interwebs :)

Ahh, the dreaded Carb-Craving Flu. I myself used to get Savory-Stew-Craving Colds. My sympathies.

Thanks.

"CB and Mrs CB: The Gimpy Years"

This cracked me up.

One day I will write that tale, I swear it.

Great to hear you're feeling better and just in case you haven't gotten around to it... *raises a glass of wine on your behalf*

Take care :)

Thanks for the wine-proxy. Turns out I still have a fever, so no wine for me this week :(

due to Mrs. CB's diligent and loving care

please tell the mrs how cute she is (especially in her penguin pjs)... she's feeling overlooked compared to the boys

I hereby declare that Mrs. CB's Penguin Jammies are ONLY out-cuted by my Sock Monkey ones.

The boys don't wear jammies that we know of.

There's an ep where Crusher and Troi are doing yoga together...that was pretty hot. ;) Wish I could remember which one that was... Also, there's some good stuff between them in "The Host," if you can get over the fact that Crusher's about to shag Riker and gets all weird about her Trill-love's new host body being female. Honestly, I always went Crusher/Picard as my OTP. It was just it for me.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2007-01-15 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a Crusher/Picard OTP as well, but I like to see 'em swing once in a while ;)

Keeps it interesting, fresh.

Holy crap, dude! I'm glad you're feeling better, thanks to Mrs. CB and the Furry Bastards (honestly, they should form a rock band).

I am probably in the minority here, but I think TOS OTP was Kirk and Bones, not Kirk and Spock. Something about the way McCoy growled, "Dammit Jim!" led me to believe that the nickname "Bones" may not have been a take on McCoy's profession...just saying!

Hahahaha...no, I can see it. I mean, it would be lame for Kirk to take as a lover a man who only gets hot about every seven years, as Vulcans do. But I could see an OT3 of sorts, if Kirk had an unrequited thing for Spock and ignored his twoo wuv, McCoy. And then McCoy would get back at Kirk by having it off with Scotty and oh Jesus Christ, it's a slippery slope, innit?

Minor OTP: Sulu/Chekhov.

Next up is "Space:1999".

OMG that show is so cracktastic! LOVE IT! I remember watching it with my sister and we would be in hysterics from making fun of Barbara Bain.

Thanks bud! Still have a fever-now we need to make sure I don't have what a co-worker came down with-viral encephalitis. Probably have a secondary sinus infection since my face hurts so much. Damn, beautiful nose.

And it explains why Bones was so bitchy to Spock. And you KNOW Scotty was the reason all those red-shirts "died".

I watched the first ep of Space:1999- OMG! It's been 30 damn years and I still love Moonbase Alpha. BB was pretty, but she SUCKED as an actress. My fave character was season 2's Maya, played by Catherine Schell. The things that girl could do with an eyebrow pencil...
