Early morning phone call

"Don't worry, I wasn't in the building when the bomb went off."

This was my wake up call this morning from Mrs. CB. Apparently, someone threw an incindiery bomb through the principal's window just before Mrs. CB arrived for work. I keep telling her this is NOT the way for her and her fellow teachers to get through to their boss.

Weird thing? Not ten minutes before she called, I had a very vivid dream where Mrs. CB yelled out to me. When I told her this, she said it was at the same time the bomb was thrown. Uh huh, I 'm special.

Oh my God. Yikes. Was the principal okay? (in my head, he looks like Skinner from the Simpsons)

Cool dream though.

No one injured. The principal is a young guy, not everyone's fave, but still

Woah!! I'm glad she wasn't there yet. Everyone else ok, too?

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
All are well, but pissed because they still had classes.

[identity profile] jandyle.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, that would have been my responce, too. :) I'm glad everyone is fine.

Egads!!

The things people will do to get out os school. :shakes head:

Jesus Christ! I'm so glad she's okay--and I hope no one was hurt.

Do they have any idea who did this?

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
She's fine but pissed as hell that they decided to hold classes while there was still a strong smoke oder in the building. They were instructed to "shake the kids down" to find the culprit.

I think it may have been Bruin.

They suspect a new white pick up truck at the scene.
Says one teacher, "A white pickup on the west side! There are dozens."
Says a second teacher, "Ah, but a NEW white pickup--that's rare."

That is HORRIBLE. So glad Mrs. C is okay- if you had heard about the bomb before you got the call, you would have been sick with worry-- my gosh!

never a dull moment, huh?

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Had I known before she called, I'd have already called her or driven there. The dream scared me awake-she called out to me like she was in the other room.

Never dull in our world ;)

Thanks for your thoughts, sweetie.

Yikes!

Glad all are ok, but damn kids are harsh these days.

[identity profile] cabenson.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That they are. A few years ago, one kid stole a car and rammed it into the school.

Oh HOLY #@$%!!!!

Okay, this is way too soon after my own near miss. Something has *got* to get better.

I'm so glad Mrs CB is okay!

[identity profile] wingsfan.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear everyone's OK.

But you might be on to something about the culprit being Bruin. I'm tellin' ya, Ohio water is tainted. It makes the kitties loopy. :p

I am so very glad that Mrs. CB is okay and that no one was hurt!!! Ah, the joys of working in education!! Good thing that they pay us teachers so much or it wouldn't be worth having bombs thrown at us ;-)

[identity profile] stargazer1960.livejournal.com 2007-01-20 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, the smell was just horrible. Several kids had to go home for asthma, allergies, migraines.
They gave one pregnant teacher a hard time for going home because her room was closest to the smoke and soot damage.

No doubt your administration are graduates of the same school as mine, Adolf Hitler High, ...damned bureaucratic Nazis! Still, I am glad that there were no injuries from the bomb, except the breathing issues, and that you are okay. Have a glass of wine...or two...Hell, have a whole damn bottle. You deserve it.

[identity profile] sooozie1982.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Kids these days, Christ. When I didn't want school, I just didn't go. Sheesh!

[identity profile] eclecticfan.livejournal.com 2007-01-20 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
well, that tops my craptastically boring day... in the worse possible way

glad all (especially SG) are well
