Did you know...

that if you lie about your weight and hair color at the BMV, that you will cause a state-wide crash of their computer system? Neither did I until 10:00 yesterday morning. I'll need to remember that in four years. (Actually, it is a routine Saturday morning occurrence, but the lady helping me joked it was because I said my weight hadn't changed in 20 years ;)

Also, for those old enough to remember, this week marked the 20th anniversary of Hands Across America. I stood on High Street here in Columbus with my best friend and her mom. My friend and I had hangovers ;)

Nothing much happening at Casa Cabenson. Reading about all the moves happening with my flist inspired me to pack away my winter things and finally, FINALLY! go through my massive tee-shirt collection. I donated about 1/3 to Goodwill, but I just can't part with the others. Most of them are gifts, so I have to keep them, right?

I am gonna be a computer geek today. I need to edit some more videos and make some icons for Mrs. CB. We have plans to grill out- mushroom and onion, blue-cheese, and jalapeno burgers from The Dykery Store along with Baked Beans (not really baked-it's too hot), pea-salad (YUM!), strawberry shortcake, and.....MARGARITAS for everyone! Tomorrow we are going to [livejournal.com profile] artskat's place for a cookout. She really needs to get her ass back to posting on LJ again.

You all have a safe and happy holiday!

There's a Dykery ..... store?

Are they offering Memorial Day special toasters?

It's actually a gourmet grocery in Clintonville (aka "Clitville") due to it's high percentage of lesbian residents.

Before I moved to Canada, I couldn't bear to part with all my old t-shirts...so I cut out all the fronts and sewed them together, and then sewed that to a quilt cover to make my very own patchwork quilt cover! This way, I didn't lose all the memories attached to the shirts (many of which were unworn), and ended up with a great conversation starter. I also learnt to use the sewing machine, even if it was just in straight lines.

Quilts

The women-folk in my family would be so proud! They actually do sew and quilt. I sewed my prom dress back in 1978 as well.

Here is a pic. I'm on the right.

I figure I have about another two years before I have to get rid of all my dirty t-shirts. By then Dakota should be able to read. I don't want to have to explain to him what "I put out on the first date" means.

If you need someone to adopt that T-shirt, just let me know. It's a humanitarian act that's clearly all about protecting Dakota...

Sorry Bud...I am planning on wearing this t-shirt out before I have to get rid of it. Ya never know....it might land me Mr. Right.

[identity profile] saveferris.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping it would help me land Mr. Right Now. (I know... "Mr. Right Now" is SO tired, but I had to.) LOL

Congrats on going through your clothes! I need to do that too before we pack them all up. There are so many things I will/shouldn't ever wear again and yet I feel compelled to keep them. I am the worst pack rat.

Those burgers sound GOOD! As do the baked beans (mmm) and ritas! Make me want to go to a BBQ so bad.
