Hey drunk poster!

I want to pick your drunken brain about making fan vids/music vids.

What program do you use? Where do you get your clips? What's the best way to get clean, (crap free) clips?

do you story board?

Muchas gracias.

Mel

Okay, making vids.

1. I make all of my own clips using ImTOO DVD Ripper 4 that I bought online. About $30-40, but all you do is stick the dvd in , label the chapters and it rips to whatever format you desire.

2. I edit my vids with ULead VideoStudios 10, a program that I bought at a local CompUSAS. You import your clips, your music, add effects-it's very user friendly and I am slowly learning how to do more with the effects as I make new vids. Most PC's come with Windows Movie Maker, and while I really like theur effects, the program ultimately craps out.

3. Yeah, I do storyboard. I hate vids where people take the lyrics very literally or just slap clips together. I take the lyrics then spend a couple days agonizing over what clip represents the best visage for that particular part of the song. I also try to edit the timing of the clip to coincide with beats of the music. My latest, "What Hurts Most" is up at my site and I was very pleases with how the music and the vid action melted together.

Hope this helped.

Wait! A WINDOWS APPLICATION CRASHED?! Impossible, I say!

But seriously, Linux comes with so many video editors. And it is all, of course, freeware, which is always a good thing. I actually crashed my movie player in Linux once. It gave me the error "MPlayer has crashed. This shouldn't be happening."

CB, I've been instructed by the other CB to send you any SL/Helen icons that I make. I figured I'd run it by you first, instead of just bombarding your LJ with pictures.

Oh, and you've got my name wrong in your userpics page. It's roman_machine. :)

That would be great! And I fixed your name-I was a tad distracted, you see :) It is a prize icon!

Good answer. I can see why everyone on your f-list wants to shag you. I don't feel that I can take most of the credit for this one, though, since the Lahboobs did all the work. :)

That's my girl!

ps... if i whimper and whine, can you either re-upload your WITB eps or I can send you booze and blank dvds for copies. I kept saying to myself that I'd download them "later" but school has been kicking my tail.

Lemme make it easy for you. Email me your address at :

cabensonsvu@yahoo.com

and I will burn a dvd for you-it will be WMV, so you can only play it on your pc. BBC America is showing ads for it-I think it starts next month.

If you have Windows Media Center (probably the only slightly-useful product made by Microsoft since...MS Paint), you can actually burn DVDs as *.vob files, which is the format all DVDs are saved as. This way, they can play both on computers and on actual DVD players.
