Jun. 2nd, 2006 04:58 pmIt's Friiiiiiiidaaaaaaay! Thank god. I've had a migraine since Monday and I really just need to sleep for about a week. But that will have to wait.
I went in at 7:00 this morning and my thooper dooper wireless head-set was waiting for me :) This makes my job so much easier-no more tilting my neck to hold the phone while I look up results or test requirements. Or eat cookies and drink coffee. And what better way to make an impression upon your new peers than to get caught in "Rock Star" mode with said new headset :)
I think everyone should have this song, I'm Not Ready to Make Nice-Dixie Chicks. Great song. Already have a video planned for it and if you can guess the specifics, well, you can have, uh, maybe....nothing but the knowledge that you were correct. And really, isn't that all that matters?
We have a small break in the stormy weather. The Arts Festival is this weekend and I am hoping the weather will let up so we can go. Mrs. CB has hauled my gimpy ass down there, both pre and post-surgery, and walked me around while drooling over scantily clad women and damn fine food. Allow me to clarify, I did all the drooling- I mean, Corn Dogs and Kettle Korn people!
Did I mention that I was asked to be a member of a transition committee at Teh New Job? Our little area is moving off-site early next year and we need to define potential logistical problems, develop solutions, and train our co-workers on any new protocols and procedures that evolve from this committee. Our first meeting is Monday . I like that they do this with the affected areas-more insight from employees, less "You will do it this way or else!" from management. I like that I see more of a business side to the laboratory/hospital as opposed to the clinical side. Actually, I get the best of both worlds. Maybe I'll look into a business major...
Okay guys and gals, it's pizza and 'rita time. Be good, and if you can't be good, then post all about it!
