In a pleasant surprise, I was informed that I could start driving today!! With the exception of a quick trip to the MRI place, I have not driven anywhere since mid-April. Watch out Central Ohio, I'm back on the streets!

I wanna wish everyone on my f-list a SAFE and enjoyable Memorial Weekend. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!! or I'll kick your ass. Have fun!

It's 64 degrees here today and I am wearing shorts. And nothing else ;) I heard we are supposed to have flurries tomorrow, but I hope not. I have the windows open and the boys are going nuts. They love sitting in the windows and watching the birds divebomb the feeders.

Hope everyone had a great V-Day. While I was slaving over a hot stove for my favorite gal, I noticed two broken carnations sitting on the counter. Mrs. CB is the Junior class adviser and they sold V-Day carnations as a fund raiser and she was in charge of purchasing the flowers (thus the cat litter container full of flowers pic.)

"Those are for you," she said. "They were broken so I brought them home for you."

Gee....thanks? Mrs. CB- IG tix, CB- broken flora

Then after dinner she told me she had to go get more carnations because they had run out. I casually mentioned that if a box of chocolate didn't come home with her that I would change the locks.

Ah, the power of chocolate. One box of truffles (and the promise of a great dinner out and a flick), CB is a happy gal again.

In other news, the boys' eye infections are clearing up and I am starting to feel a little better. These antibiotics are killing my stomach though, which is impeding my consumption of Teh Red. But I have officially lost 32 pounds, so I am happy.

And my Bucks are still #2/3 in the nation. Only 12 more days...and a date with Penn State, til we hit tourny time.

ETA: We just found out that Mrs. CB's grandmother passed away. Rest in peace, G-Ma Loyal.

Mrs. CB and I celebrated V-Day last night so we could drink as much as we wanted without having to worry about having a hangover for work. I made steak, asparagus, and sauteed mushrooms. We had chocolate mousse and chocolate/hazelnut torte as well as a couple of chocolate covered strawberries.

Mrs. CB was shocked off her ass when I gave her the tickets for the concert. She had no idea the Indigo Girls were going to be in town and spent a little too much time caressing the tickets. I almost left the room to give them some privacy. Almost.

We are enjoying a cold, rainy day of basketball. A lot of people have teased me about my interest in the OSU women's team. The main interest, for me anyway, is a gal (Caity Matter in my icon) from a small town near my hometown. We wound up with season tickets right in front of her family and friends and cheering for Caity Matter always made me feel like I was home. Last Valentine's Day, her 15-yr old brother was killed in a car accident. The entire OSU Women's BBall community was devastated, including Mrs. CB and myself. Ricky had sat right behind me during the previous game. Ous paper ran a story on Caity and her family today. A beautiful story about a loving sibling relationship )

On a happier note, I have a gift for all the members of Teh harem and my f-list:

A kiss, flowers and some pussy )

Well January is over and I didn't wind up in the hospital. I am going for some kinda record here. With one month down in 2005, I thought I would revisit my New Year's Resolutions and see how I was coming along. Not as good as I thought

Smokey and I are getting ready to make another run to the vet. He still has an eye infection, but luckily, none of the other cats have caught it. Poor little fat boy.

Oh and GO!BUCKS! #2 in the nation-the highest we have ever been ranked in Women's Basketball. Eat that Rene Portland! and I meant that in the nicest way

Happy New Year everyone! Mrs. CB and I spent a peaceful evening enjoying shrimp cocktail, Cheddar and Chardonnay fondue, chocolate mousse, and champagne. I even broke out the faux crystal. We watched Mean Girls...I LOVED! that flick. I then subjected [livejournal.com profile] ki_finn to my new Web Cam...such a gracious soul. Then we watched Teh Ball descend (because dropping a 6' diameter Waterford Crystal ball is just wrong!), listened to the fireworks (both official and unofficial)and fell asleep.

Today, we took down the exterior lights (no candy cane lights were harmed in this process) and watched the Rose Bowl Parade. Mrs CB watched the parade with her gardening book in her hands. I wish I could find a "productive" hobby. This afternoon has been spent alternating between napping and watching Bowl games. Listening to my wife yell, "Get him, get him, get him," is driving me to drink. :looks at pretteh Veramonte Cabernet:

I just placed a garlic/peppercorn crusted pork roast in the oven and will soon start the sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Pork and kraut on NY Day= Good Luck! We are waiting for The Rose Bowl to begin during which we shall root for Michigan...but only because they are the Big Ten reps. They are playing Texas and I can't help but think of Abbie Carmichael...

Enjoy the new year, my friends.

I can't believe it is New Year's Eve already. This whole Holiday Season has seemed surreal. We had a hellacious ice/snowstorm on the 23rd/24th. Some folks in the area are just now getting their power back. Add in the earthquake and resulting tsunamis, and it feels more like the end of the world instead of the end of the year.

Mrs. CB and I will be staying home tonight celebrating with a little fondue, a little chocolate mousse, and a lot of bubbly. I usually watch my annual "End Of The World As We Know It" movie-a-thon, but I am not so sure this year.

To brighten things up a bit, I offer you my 2005 New Year's Resolutions.

The past six months have been a bounty of new adventures for me. I have renewed a long-dormant interest in writing and creating. I have met so many wonderful people through these boards and communities and have developed great friendships with a few incredible women. I'd like to take this time to thank you all for being you.

Mrs. CB and I wish you all a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!!

And with all the talk of my TV girlfriend returning, I offer you this gift:

Miss Blonde Piece of Pie )

I can't believe that I am still sick. I would appreciate it if all virus particles within my bio-system would leave the premises immediately. I have holiday wine to enjoy, dammit!

My OSU women's bball team is kicking ass. They are 10-1 and ranked 7/10 in the nation. I hope that this will help increase attendance, but not necessarily in the seats next to me. I need my space, yo!

We had the first of five holiday gatherings yesterday with the In-Laws. We drove up toward the lake in freezing, windy weather. Who knew an inch of snow could make a six-inch drift?! Had a nice visit, nice meal, and then exchanged gifts. My better half makes a personal gift every year for our families. This year it was individually decorated birdhouses. She is pretty damn good with painting designs and such. I primed them, then stayed the hell out of her way. :pats self on back:

Mrs CB completed her Masters Degree in Education(Curriculum Development) and to celebrate the fact that she has absolutely nothing to do for the next 2 weeks, I bought her Maureen O'Hara's autobiography and a few DVDs. Now I have to write out instructions for her on how to use the DVD player. That's my girl :)

I went down to the basement to hit the gym and noticed that George W. Bush's face is plastered on the heavy/kick bag. Heh heh.

Oh...and it's fucking cold here! It was -1 degree F when I went to work at 4:30 this morning. Bullshit! I ain't going out if it ain't above 20 degrees out.

In case anyone was wondering, I would like one (of both) of the following for Christmas:

1) Typing lessons with a special focus on the "I vs O" keys.

2) A larger keyboard. With bigger keys.

The annual struggle to maintain a respectable patience level has descended upon me again. Holiday shopping you ask? No. That would be too easy. I can move through the mall slamming into people that piss me off and blame it on "crowding". It is time to Decorate for the Holidays at Casa Cabenson )

Went to a lovely holiday party last night. Wonderful food, beautiful home, friendly guests. Wound up talking horror flicks with a close friend. Anyone out there remember "Happy Birthday to Me" with Melissa Sue Anderson from "Little House on The Prairie" fame? I didn't think so. Memories...sweet and bloody. Good times.

OSU women's b-ball game this afternoon. During the media time-outs, the cheerleaders throw prizes into the crowd. While the coveted t-shirt still eludes me, I did manage to snag a swoosh ball from an elderly woman during one of the time-outs at yesterday's game. Just reached right over her back and grabbed it before she could wrap her shriveled little hands around it. Ah...height is good! Mrs. CB and I were bored during the first game (our gals played the second game in a tourney) so we decided to re-inact the hundreds of fouls called from our seats. Didn't last long. She ran into one of her students and we decided to behave. I'll not be consuming as much sugar today-the brownies and apple crisp are gone.

Gonna work on getting the Christmas decorations out tonight and tomorrow (I have tomorrow of as well!) Grabbed some stuff at Hobby Lobby to work on my Wizard of Oz display. Mrs. CB wants to get a small, real tree this year. I just want one large enough to put the train around..it scares the boys and keeps them out of the tree.Or so we try to tell ourselves.
