Yes, my bitches, it's that time of year again. I had yesterday off for working last weekend, and since I woke up seemingly recovered from yet ANOTHER asthma attack, we headed off to the fair.

On the way, I told Mrs. CB that she need to drive faster, cause I was starving. She offered to stop at a drive thru. Dude, we do NOT waste tummy space on Baconators when there is deep fried stuff on a stick just a few miles away.

I originally thought about doing another theme pic spam, but there was just nothing cathcing my eye, so this image-heavy post is a combo of:

What not to wear to the fair (clothes and hair),Fun fair stuff, and Fair food )

Mrs CB called me at work yesterday very upset because her car is in the shop (electrical and cooling problems) and won't be fixed until at least Monday and will cost an arm and a nut for the repairs. She is stuck at home (can't drive mine because she can't drive a 5-speed) and is finishing up her grad school classes and just overly stressed. So I did what any good partner would do... I told my boss I wasn't coming in today 'cause I was taking my girl to the fair.

The Ohio State Fair is a wonder unto itself. Huge midway, many rides (of questionable safety), FOOD, FOOD, FOOD and the occasionally decent concert. You have to pay $8 each to get in and then an additional cost to ride the rides. We go to watch the people...and it seldom disappoints.

Today was a beautiful 76 degrees with low humidity and 17 mph breezes. We ate lunch then hopped in the car. I love the fact that we live 10 minutes from the fairground. We were directed by the "junior-Troopers"-the students from the State Patrol academy -to a different parking lot this year that did not offer the tractor-driven shuttles to the gate...Cabenson has a bad back and doesn't need to walk a fucking mile to get her cheese-on-a-stick! She doesn't need the fried cheese either.

Once we got to the fair, we hit all the commercial buildings and antique sales...I've found a tone of stuff there for my X:WP collection (I want SVU action figures, dammit!). We ate roasted corn, a corn dog, burger, two kinds of deep-fried cheese and drank a gallon of iced tea. We bought French Waffles and gourmet caramel apples to bring home. Mrs. CB bought a Wonder Woman trash can to add to her collection (which she is now considering entering in next year's fair) and we considered a few posters for the office...but the had no "Head of State" and she didn't want "Blood Simple" (don't ask me why).

We had a great time and now I am tending the 5 blisters I earned walking around and staring at nice butts in short shorts. (Mrs CB already smacked me, but she was looking as well ;)

Oh, and remember the mower? It's still at the shop because we can't get it in the trunk of my car...damned mechanical malfunctions!
