Seventies Child

I came home around noon today. The surgery lasted an hour-she took a "huge chunk" of vertebra out- and I can now walk. I had a longer time in post-op because my heart rate was up and a little out of sync-probably have to add that to my maintenance list. But I lucked out and had a private room on a newly redone floor of the hospital that is dedicated to Spinal Conditions.I got to watch TBJ while I nibbled on Graham crackers and sipped on Sprite.

My mom has made me a German Chocolate cake and is now making Chicken Parmigiana. She and Mrs CB have gotten along wonderfully the past two days- I almost hate to see Mom leave tomorrow. They took me for a walk around the house and into the garden so I could see what has bloomed the last few weeks when I was stuck in bed.

Thanks for all the well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I should be back to my snarky self in a few days.

So Mrs. CB and I, while waiting for our gals to play, were watching a game between Liberty and DePaul. Liberty, an underdog team, beat Teh Ev01 Penn State last week so we enjoyed watching them play.

Mrs. CB: Go Liberty! Eat that Rene Portland!(we're not hatahs,really) Go Liberty!

Me: Uh, babe, Liberty was founded by Jerry Falwell. Originated as Lynchburg Baptist College.

Mrs. CB: I hate those fuckers! Go DePaul!!

Our gals won and are headed to Philly for the Sweet Sixteen. We toyed with the idea of driving there to watch the game, but my back said no, so we will be staying home to watch it.

I stopped to grab some wine and steaks on my way home yesterday. I decided to get us a "treat" as well since I was starting a vaca, and Mrs. CB will be starting spring break in about 24 hours. I asked for 2 flourless chocolate cakes, then realized that Mrs. CB is notsofond of Teh Cake. They were already boxed up, and I didn't want to tell the bakery person to put one back after all her hard work, so I am eating them both. Yay for PMS justification. And the wife? I got her some cherry pie. And she was more than happy ;)

This is why I hate driving in Columbus. Four accidents like this in 3 months. Dumbasses!

You know that PMS has taken control when you ignore common sense and head out in a snowstorm because you simply Must! Have! Chocolate Cake! Now!

Damn it is cold. It was -3(F) when I left for work with a -20(F) windchill. I have yet to get warm. Okay, I am ready for spring.

And Mrs. CB lost at poker while I won. That's the way it usually goes. The chili and cornbread were hits as was the yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting...which I am going to sample very soon.

Other news, my Buckeyes won again!! Still #3 in the AP poll.
