Fuck Off, 2004. Hello baby, 2005!

I can't believe it is New Year's Eve already. This whole Holiday Season has seemed surreal. We had a hellacious ice/snowstorm on the 23rd/24th. Some folks in the area are just now getting their power back. Add in the earthquake and resulting tsunamis, and it feels more like the end of the world instead of the end of the year.

Mrs. CB and I will be staying home tonight celebrating with a little fondue, a little chocolate mousse, and a lot of bubbly. I usually watch my annual "End Of The World As We Know It" movie-a-thon, but I am not so sure this year.

To brighten things up a bit, I offer you my 2005 New Year's Resolutions.



New Year’s Resolutions for 2005



I will count to ten seven five before I lose my temper. Broken Jan 3 in my first hour back to work after 11 days off

I will attempt to see past my sister’s bullshit and re-connect with her even if it is only to hear from my nieces and nephews. I honestly can't stand her

I will encourage my better half to finish my WIP’s because I can’t find my muse. I did try

I will search the TV airwaves for Teh HoYay as SVU is slowly sucking my brain dry.And I found Teh Bad Girls :)

I will learn, to, use, commas, properly. not gonna happen

I will learn Algebra…again. For the forth time. Maybe next year

I will lose that last bit of weight and continue to strengthen my back (but not so I look like a She-Hulk).not that it helped much

I will find a pretty cane to use in case I fail to accomplish ^. I have to get a pretty WALKER?! if I blow my back out again.

I will learn to order stir-fry.

I will try to rekindle my relationship with vodka, but if that bitch slaps me in the face just one more time…we’re through! Nah, we're through! We're in love again!

I will stop calling my co-workers “stupid fucking bitches”. I will make an effort to reduce my use of foul language at my place of employment.

I will continue my mission of getting my team-leader fired. She's doing a pretty good job of it herself, but I made some comments anyway

I will look for a new job. And hope my back doesn't go out two days after they make an offer...again!

I will clean my tool bench…again. I can't find things when it is clean I am not allowed near my tool bench until May 2006- doctor's orders

I will do a “book purge” buy another book shelf. We’ll put it in the basement bath. I bought 6 books in January alone and got rid of none

I will wash the salt off my car this winter instead of waiting for it to rain. I am too lazy gimpy

I will read real books with pages and stuff. I read 4 in January alone

I will try to overcome my irrational fears of: snakes, bugs, birds, bridges, heights, vodka, spiders, car crashes, flying, and other things that you need not be concerned with.

I will stop coloring my hair. Grey is sexy, right? Vanity is everything Grey IS sexy!

I will strive to meet another LJ friend in real life. Start the bidding war now ladies. I was almost successful but, yeah, that back thing again. 2006 loks really good. I'm watching you!

I will continue to improve my life with Random Acts of Kindness. You can all improve my life with Random Nude Shots. I am a sucker...

I will try a food I currently claim to hate…possibly fish, but not curry. Never curry. I realized I do like fresh guacamole and I recently tried marinated tofu...and didn't hurl!





I will not fall victim to the “Odd Year” curse. so far, so good I think 3 1/2 months off work after major back surgery kinda blew this one.

I will not bring any more pets into the house. They can stay in the shed.

I will not answer “A cheap hooker” when my wife asks me what I want for my birthday. “Classy call girl” sounds much better. She didn't care for that one either.

I will not spend all my spare time parked in front of my computer.

I will not refer to my new webcam as “Titty-Cam Central”. I even told my mom I was calling it that

I will not buy any trendy electronics (except for an MP3 player and maybe a DVR.)Those are the only two things I bought. Honest!

I will not eat pizza more than once a week.

I will not threaten to skin my cats and make gloves/slippers.

I will not offer money or fake coupons for lap dances to any OSU football players.

I will not avoid social engagements with a certain friend because I cannot stand their spouse. I am quitting poker over kids so I can't keep this one either

I will not, when running into an ex-lover, hug them in front of their current (and very jealous) partner. Yes I will. I’m evil that way.did not see them this year, but my social calendar was a tad bit empty

I will not stalk my online friends.I know where you all live...

I will not feign illness when it is time to visit the in-laws.back surgery can be a good thing

I will not feel guilty about watching my "End of the world as we know it" movie-a-thon.

I like most of these. However, I must disagree with the car one, as waiting for rain is my current method of washing my car. This worked so much better when I parked outside and not in a parking garage all day.

Wow, you really don't hold back with your resolutions! My resolution is to have no resolutions (to avoid the guilt and disappointment of breaking them). And in having that resolution, I break it simultaneously. And it isn't even 24 hours into the new year. Go me!
