cabenson: (Cold?)

So, the medical mystery continues. Yesterday, I had blood work drawn that showed that at SOME time, I've had a clot and it is/has breaking/broken up. Today Mrs. CB took me in for my CT scans and we both expected for me to be admitted for blood clots in my lung.

The CT was negative for clots. We were stunned!

Good because no one wants to have clots in the lung; bad because we still have no idea what's going on. The blood tests did show some sign of inflammation. Who knows?

My desktop has been invaded by Spyguard 2009- a nasty worm. I am probably going to have someone come to the house to get rid of it. Normally I could do it manually, but my task manager has been "disabled by administrator" and uh, I would be the administrator and I never did that, nor do I know how to undo it. Suggestions other than tossing the CPU out the window?

It's fucking cold! The 2-4" of snow predicted yesterday was more like 7-8". Mrs. CB was out shoveling at 4:30am because even though she took the day off, she needed to go in to leave instructions for her sub. She has tomorrow off but is taking me to work. How sweet!

Wow, that plane in the Hudson! Surreal. Glad everyone made it out okay.

Gotta work this weekend :( but I'll get a 3-day next weekend. Have to schedule the PC guy for that day. Also need a haircut.

Stay warm!

Ack, I hope you get some kind of resolution to that issue. Nothing worse than lingering mystery medical problems!

Well bastard spyware virus stuff might be slightly worse.

Manual removal instructions: http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-spyguard-2009-spy-guard-2009-removal.html

Have a go at that if you're keen. Paying someone to do it will result in them googling it like I just did and probably just following those instructions.

Try installing Spybot Search & Destroy and then run a full scan. It's looking for and blocking security software so it may not let you, but it's worth a shot.

If you get no-where with any of that, try a Windows Repair by booting from your Windows disk, that may overwrite the affected security files.

Absolute last resort, format the bastard and blow it all away and start again with a fresh install of Windows. Ultra painful and you'll want to back up your stuff first.

Hope that helps a bit, drop me a line if you want to clarify anything, I'm happy to help :)

Can't say that I'm disappointed in this particular case that the mystery illness is still a mystery. I'm still hoping for the strange and weird that can be cured with a single pill. Perhaps all that's necessary is a glimpse of the lovely Alex Cabot on screen once again. :)

Cold? It's even cold here. You guys bundle up and try to stay warm.

Wow, I'm glad there were no clots! Yay! The doctors must love you: a bona fide medical mystery. I'm sure Dr. Hahn would have you figured out in a nanosecond though..."Hmmm. Inflammation. Can't breathe: She's hot for me."

It's fucking cold here too, but we have a pittance of snow.

sorry about the virus...

and good luck with the health thing... I too must go for tests, as soon as I call John Hopkins to set it up - my new doc wants to retest me (or my blood) for clotting factors to see if I need to stay on warfarin for the balance of my life

anyway - best of luck with discovering what's happening health wise - but no clots is a very good thing
