Otalia Drabbles for:
ralst,
aquila1nz,
theholyinnocent, and
raginhoops
For:
ralst, prompt was "Ducks"
Word count: 119
"When did you first feel it? These feelings?"
"I don't know. To be honest, I think they've kinda been there from the start."
"From the start? Really? Even when I was with Nicky?"
"Okay,well maybe not then."
"Yeah, we kinda hated each other-"
"But in a good way. In a very special and...good...way."
"Do you think...do you think that people will say we're just confusing friendship with love?"
"Nah. I think people will realize that we have been confusing love with friendship all this time. There has always been a unique connection between us."
"We've always been together, haven't we?"
"Even when we weren't. C'mon, let's get out of here before I snag one of those ducks for dinner."
For:
aquila1nz prompt was "what happens between the nuzzle and Olivia walking towards Natalia outside?"
Word count: 141
"Don't go after him, Olivia. He didn't mean-"
"I'm not going after Frank, I promise. I just need to do this one thing, then I'll meet you outside, and we'll get some lunch, okay? Okay?"
Natalia nodded silently and left the exam room. She need some air, she needed some sun, she needed...something to help her work through her guilt.
Olivia watched Natalia exit the hospital, and then she turned around and headed to the small room tucked behind the main lobby. She sat on the hard wooden bench, closed her eyes, and she prayed. She prayed for all of them: Natalia, Emma, Rafe, Frank, the Coopers, and for herself. She prayed that they would all travel through this tunnel of confusion and come out the other side complete and whole; family and friends. Because they deserved it, all of them.
For:
theholyinnocent, prompts were: "Doris, a keg of Heineken, and a pair of skis"...bitch ;)
Word count: 119
"Hey, Doris, been shooting that high-powered pie-hole of yours off to anyone lately?"
"What did you expect me to do, Olivia? Watch one of Springfield's finest moping around town, drowning hi s sorrows in a keg of Heineken? He deserved to know the truth, so I told him."
"And what exactly was your version of 'The Truth'?"
"That his ex-fiancée has the hots for you."
"Jesus Christ, Doris! A pair of skis up his ass would have been more subtle."
"True, but you got what you wanted out of it, didn't you Olivia? Frank Cooper is out of the picture, and you...you got the girl. Please tell me you got the girl."
"Yeah, I did. I got the girl."
For:
raginhoops, prompt was: "Oli asks Doris for advice on the dating/snagging women thing, 'cause what works for men is so not working on Nat." I used my own interpretation of this prompt.
Word count: 124
"I need your help."
"Okay, but it's gonna cost you," Doris said as she pointed to her empty glass.
"Fine!" Olivia growled as she signaled the bartender to pour another round."It's Natalia. I need advice. Nothing is working."
"Nothing is working...what?"
"I've tried everything. I bought flowers, I took her to a fancy dinner, I even went to freaking Bingo Night at the church, but nothing. Not even a kiss. What the fuck do I have to do to get this woman to put out?"
"Olivia, the secret to seducing a woman is very simple," Doris said as she slammed her drink and stood to leave.
"Really?"
"Absolutely," Doris said as she leaned toward Olivia and whispered, "just buy yourself a nice hat".

Date: 2009-05-22 01:53 pm (UTC)A pair of skis up his ass would have been more subtle.
And it would have been more satisfying to see Doris try that. (Although not-so-satisfying for Doris herself, I'm sure.)
I need an Olivia icon....

Date: 2009-05-23 02:46 am (UTC)I agree that they were always two fevered taunts from ravishing each other....
But you outdid yourself with the Bingo Night.

I don't know why (except that I totally do, because Olivia would do this and everything else just to get one of those dimples to show up on Natalia's face), but I can't stop laughing at that.
Love all of these, and I'm so glad to see you writing for Otalia. More, please!

Date: 2009-05-24 10:59 pm (UTC)Very nice job with all the drabbles. You managed to work various kinds of magic in just a few words. Nicely played with each and every one.
*scratches head* How'd I miss these???
