You guys talking about my favorite TV girlfriends and I missed it. 10 lashes and put me in stocks. Really, the con(PTP) thing that you guys did totally drew me back in from my sports addiction into femslash again. Maybe that is a bad thing but it put me back into the thinking about story...ie the american bad girl concept. I have actually started playing with the storyline and set up what it could be. And I do agree with you CB that Michelle R was born to play Denny. Just a little bit dim but a thug with a grinch-like heart. What I would give to see it grow. I too have a whole cast in my head. Yet, I think that the basic characters and identity should be intact and general facts and story line should be nodded to but it has to reflect American prison life and content. The unique problems and situations of american life behind bars should be explored. And I really don't want a retelling of a very near perfect British 3 seasons of the "slow burn". Like "Psycho", don't reshoot. Step away. Go another direction. So, I am thinking of different names, race makeup, mixing storylines, and definitely making the thing grittier. At times, the brits seemed a little too cartoon. The impact was strong when those "lovable" characters ended up punching out and showing their true colors but I am sure that this could be done in a more realistic way. And I don't mean going all OZ on the story but something in between. To show the problems faced by the system set up to punish crime and the massive impact that our prison system has economically and politically on society. Whew. All I am saying is that you have pulled me back from my handball addiction into exercising my fingers and imagination again.
thanks.
