The Update Post
Nov. 11th, 2005 09:33 am-It has been six months since my back surgery and I am doing notsobad. I am in much less pain than I was at this point after the first surgery, but due to other issues, I have had to modify my rehab exercises which may impede my progress. Hopefully these issues will be sorted soon and I can get back to my 100 crunches a day. I will admit that I am frustrated as hell with my limitations and restrictions. The day after my trip home last weekend, I stretched and the disk slipped...thankfully it moved back into place very quickly, but still. And we had to call a plumber in to fix some stuff that I would normally be able to repair myself. Only six more months until I can play with my tools again.
-Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about almost setting my pants on fire? And especially the part about Mrs. CB, THE SCIENCE TEACHER, telling me how not to treat batteries? Well, she overcharged the battery on our cell phone and it died. So we upgraded and now we BOTH have beautiful new flip-off phones. Except that hers is a camera phone. Oh, the humanity. Such beautiful technology wasted on a person who can barely work a remote.
-I cleaned off my desk (see icon for the before pic)and now the damn cats will not leave me alone. They see an open spot on the desk or hutch and believe it is their kitty-god given right to perch themselves there. I wouldn't mind if they jumped up and slept, but no, they have to half lean over the edge and swat at me, Tittie-Cam, and my headphones. And I cannot tell you how many pencil erasers have been made unusable due to kitty hucking.Cute little fuzzy bastards.
-I am a walking allergy attack. Nuff said.
-Because I amtoo lazy unable to find a place for karaoke (what?)tonight, I think
artskat and I, along with our respective womens, will be checking out the Surly Girl Saloon. Then maybe we can ditch the wives and go to a seedy boobie bar. You know, I have never been to a strip club before. I really should do that before I get as old as
theholyinnocent.
-I am writing all weekend and I don't have to feel guilty about it because Mrs. CB has a grant proposal to write. And I told her we were eating take-out all weekend. And the cats can clean their own fucking litter boxes. I live for the weekends.
-I told my mom I was coming home for Thanksgiving which I seldom ever do. She is thrilled and has the next day off, so we can hang a bit before I head back to Columbus. I also want to meet up with my friend to see how she is getting along and visit the old lab where I used to work. I saw a couple of peeps at the funeral but we didn't get a chance to talk.. We have an OSU women's basketball (pre-season national rank is #4-suck on that, Rene Portland!)tourney that weekend as well as a Holiday party. No rest for the wicked, eh?
-We're done here.
