Have you ever watched the show? I think those who have never seen it will enjoy it even more than those of us who are long-time fans. That's not to say it wasn't good for fans, either. I really quite liked it. But I think if you come into it not knowing the history (in particular, the history between Tony and the now-absent Carol), you'll be able to look at it without having those little nagging questions in the back of your mind. *grin* (Such as, "Can someone please explain why the hell Carol left??" LOL!)

Simone/Alex and Robson/Tony have some great chemistry, but not in that "they're all hot for each other". That might have to do with me knowing the relationship between Tony and Carol, but nonetheless, it didn't feel like the writers were nudging these two together in any way.

Absolutely loved Simone's hair in this show. :) And her accent seemed thicker to me than it does in "Bad Girls". Lots of rrrrrrrolling rrrrrrrrrrrs.

Oi .. I totally agree on the Simone hair love. Lahboob looks hot. And yeah ... I came into this completely new, so it was a good show for me. But the questions about the disappearance of Carol, with all the references to her does come up.

I think I missed the last series - totally by accident - but I've watched all the others and read some of the books.

I kept waiting for Nicola Walker to make an appearance when I first started watching, as the mood of the show was so reminiscent of 'Touching Evil' but I got over that, so I'm sure I can get over the absence of Carol - it is Simone, after all *g*

True- it's not as if they pretend Carol was never there, so for those just tuning in, they must be wondering, "Who is this Carol person, why is she mentioned so much, why isn't she there and where did she go?" Basically, we only got an answer to ONE of those questions!

The next ep is based on the novel "The Torment of Others", which will be interesting to see, if only because the book is so dependent not only on Carol, but events that happened to Carol in the PREVIOUS book, "The Last Temptation". And a relatively major character dies in the book... who isn't with the show anymore, either.
