Disaster movies anyone?
May. 22nd, 2006 12:16 amSo I have this thing for disaster movies. Or "End of the world as we know it" flicks. My love, for lack of a better word, began in the 70's with the "Airport" series, followed by "The Towering Inferno," "Earthquake" and of course, "The Poseidon Adventure". As special effects improved, I made it my life's goal to watch every cheesy-assed, badly written made for TV movie that I could. This brings us to tonight;s offering: "10.5: Apocolypse"
I could barely watch it. The CGI was CGlame, the writing was horrible (I know theses films are supposed to be bad, but really!, and the cast?! Where do I begin?
Oliver Hudson- you will never be your mother, your sister, ot by gawd, even your father. The Hudson Brothers were more entertaining to watch than you can ever hope to be.
Melissa Sue Anderson- she acts as though she were still playing a blind Mary Ingalls from Little House.... That was thirty damn years ago! Learn a new trick.
And my biggest disappointment? The formerly hawt Kim Delaney. Girl, take some advise from a person who likes a drink or two now and then: Put! The! Bottle! Down!! You are more bloated than Star Jones after a hot-dog eating contest. Get some help, no wait, Get some MORE help!
And this was just the first half of the movie.... Thank god for fanfic ;)

Date: 2006-05-22 04:03 pm (UTC)I happened to flick over to this piece of "entertainment" just as the guy and the girl on the ski lift bit the dust (so to speak) and they showed Kim Delaney a few times. It took me a second to figure out who she was, 'cause I recognized her, but couldn't quite place her. Then, when I did, it was very much, "Oh. OH! Gah!"
