We slept in until 9:45 and had to make a mad dash to the lobby for coffee before they closed it down at 10:00. We showered, dressed warmly and headed out for our last day in NYC

We were walking back to the Brooklyn Diner for brunch and the "2008" sign was still lit up. In the minute it took me to grab my camera, it went out.
New Year's Eve-the Aftermath:

Brunch was delicious, as always:

Mrs. CB had the Crabcake Club

I had the Bacon Cheeseburger...fabulous!
We walked up Fifth Ave to FAO Schwartz:

and Leggo my Santa

We decided we hadn't had enough to eat, so we went to the FAO Ice Cream Counter:

Mrs. CB and her egg cream

Me and the best chocolate malted EVAH!!

and the Double Banana Split the 6 people next to us ordered.
I was suffering from my shin splints so we went back to the room and watched Michigan win their bowl game. We went back to Bar Americain for dinner-I had the steak with mushrooms, and Mrs. CB had the West Coast Butterfish with a Brussle Sprout/Pomagranate salad. Double drinks (me-Dark and Stormy, Mrs. CB-The Hemingway) and then dessert! I had caramel eclairs and the wife had 4-fruit crepes with cider ice cream.
We stumbled the block back to our room, packed everything up for our early morning flight home and finished our wine. It was a wonderful trip and we saw so many things that can only be seen at the holidays. I hope we get back there during the season again some day.
