What RENT means to me

Mrs. CB and I saw RENT this afternoon. Loved it, love the musical more, but loved it none the less. We both had tears in our eyes through a great deal of the flick and it's not so much because of what happens to any particular character, but because of what the storylines represented. We remember 1989 and the impact HIV and AIDS had on society. We remember the fear, the anger, the hate. We remember watching our friends get sick and we remember watching them die. We remember a time before AIDS and we will never forget. We can't afford to.
1. A lapdance from Rosario Dawson.
2. A subway car pole dance from Jesse L. Martin
3. A threesome with Idina Menzel and Tracie Thoms. Those two make the most realistic looking lesbian pairing I have ever seen on film or TV. Da-haaaam!
4. Um, another threesome with Idina Menzel and Tracie Thoms.

Best line of the movie/play "There will always be women in rubber flirting with me!"

Date: 2005-11-27 04:17 pm (UTC)Rosario Dawson was a pleasant surprise but Adam Pascal appeared to have only one facial expression thoughout the movie...constipated. By the end of the film I wanted to throw a box of Ex-Lax everytime he came onsscreen.
And was I the only one shouting "Take the shirt off, ya damn tease!" when Idina threatened in "Take Me or Leave Me?". No? Good :)

Yeah...although, after a second viewing, I found it less noticable.
I'm still kind of in love with the movie. Have plans to see it again on Saturday.
