cabenson: (Question of the day)
[personal profile] cabenson
Several people on my flist play Scrabble online so last night I decided to give it a try. Yeah, I suck.

What is your favorite board game (ex:Monopoly, Candyland, Stratego, Chess)

My answer: I love Scene-It? Movie version. It combines a board game with DVD technology and I absolutely love it. Did I mention I love it? I think a TV version came out so I need to put that on Santa's list.

"Things to do before I die"
Ha-Ha! we can play online next week!
easy to learn, a lifetime to master--
and dangerous when you play for money.

We have the 'kids version' of Scene it, it is fun.

We also have the Pop Culture Trival Pursuit that has a DVD, which is fun to play.

I'd have to list Trival Pursuit as my favorite.(Scrabble close second)For my birthday I got "Trivial Pursuit Booklover's addition" which is just fantastic.

Do they have an 80's version of Trivial Pursuit? That might be fun.

Yes they do actually! I had asked for it, but then I got the book one instead. Which is fine.

Monopoly, I think. Scrabble's a close second, though.

We can never play Monopoly together. I am always the guy on the bucking horse. Oh well, we'll just have to find other games to play...

I'm a big fan of board games, but I think my favorite is Scrabble. I can beat pretty much anyone in Scrabble, and I take great pride in this. :)

Runners up including Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, and Clue, great games all.

I never played Clue either, but I loved the movie.

I find it very easy, now that I'm older. But when I was a kid, oh, it was HARD.

The movie is great. :)

Hmmm. It would be a toss-up btwn. Trivial Pursuit and Scene-It; as you know, I love the latter b/c I am undefeated vs. Teh Wife! (She is waiting in vain for some sort of ancient Greek & Roman version of Scene-It to come out so she can kick my ass.)

Yes, I know:) I am undefeated against Mrs. CB but I think part of the reason is because she still doesn't know how to work the DVD player.

When I saw this (http://www.trivialpursuit.com/trivialpursuit/boardgames_books.html) I thought of you gals immediately.

hmmm, Scene-It... I ought to figure out how to develop an online multi-user interface of the game.
Based on this thread, I would have at least four intial subscribers: team CB and team THI. Maybe there can we a discount for team subscriptions...:::thinkingthinking::: Actually, this could work.
And who said LJ makes for unproductive down-time at work?

That would be fun.

Make it so.

I'd have to say scrabble or monopoly, but I suck at scrabble. Still like it tho.

Oh, I love bored games! It is my life ambition to beat my Dad at Trivial Pursuit. When him and his brother team up they are unbeatable. It is so freaky.

Other than that I am a fan of Mancala, Scattegories, Boggle and Sorry. Oh, and card games! Uno, cribbage, strip-poker...

Save your card games for next week's question...now you have spoiled the others:)

Strip poker is fun!

I've played strip poker twice, and BOTH times I only lost my socks and everyone else ended up naked. heh.

Hm, I really love Monopoly for some reason. AND back in the day there was a game called Hotels. When I was in high school we used to play both games for money. Even a measly $5 each can really heighten the intensity.
Good times.

I have Scene-it but I didn't really enjoy it much. I'd rather just play Trivial Pursuit.

When I was a kid, I was a BIG fan of Sorry! and The Game of Life. I don't play many board games now, but I do enjoy a rousing game of Trivial Persuit. I couldn't ever play Scene-It because [livejournal.com profile] heathers would kick my ever-loving ass. Hard.
