Mrs. CB has finished entering her grades, cleaning her classroom and is now headed home for the summer. Or at least until she starts her summer teaching gig for at-risk kids on the 20th. We have no travel plans this summer (:whines: a year ago at this time we were in NYC!) due to The Back From Hell, but we may try to grab some movies at actual theaters and hit some plays. We are hoping to see a production of David Mamet's Boston Marriage as well as watch some friends perform in "Romeo and Juliet".

I have tried the South Beach Diet and it is quite clear that I am more of the South Park dieter after all. The removal of all carbs and sugar, for just a few days, has left me with headaches, so I am "adjusting" the diet a tad. Unfortunately, this adjustment will not allow me to scarf down an entire German Chocolate cake or eat a box of A&W Cheese Curds from the A&W stand that is but 2 blocks from my house. Right next to Tim Hortons.

I have renewed my love for The X-Files after taking advantage of Best Buy's price reduction and purchasing the dvd's. The last 2 seasons still sucked, but since I didn't watch most of them, I am seeing the majority of the eps for the first time. Maybe I can regain me Xena love as well, but that might scare the wife.

I see the surgeon next Wed. for my 6-week (has it been that long already?)post-op check up. I should be given the okay to start PT again, but I am not sure she'll let me return to work on the 20th as planned. It would be best to get some PT in before jumping back into the work flow and I have until July 26th before my job can be re-filled. The pain is diminishing, but it fires up when I over-do it, which doesn't take much. Sitting too long (more than 30 min) and walking for more than 20-30 min still cause flare ups, but at least I don't need to pop painkillers 4-6 times a day.

I bought a new kids pool and I think I'll fill it up on the back patio today...it is damn hot and humid, but I am sick of sitting in this house. And I really want Cheese Curds...

Yeah, the South Beach diet attempt did that to me, too. The first day wasn't so bad, but the next several were so miserable I jumped to phase two. I ended up killing it entirely, because I suck at diets. But really, those phase one days were almost painful I would get such bad headaches and cramps and I just felt sick and unbelievably tired all the time. Going to phase two helped a TON. I did manage to stay there for quite a while, and I killed the diet only because I had a series of vacations and diets and vacations/visiting friends and relatives just don't work well together.

I tried a carb-light margarita tonight. It tasted like ass water. I think I'll go back to half portions of regular meals. Add in the upcoming PT and I'll lose these last 15lbs in no time.

Hope you & the missus enjoy your time together. Please post a review of Boston Marriage if you see it; I'm curious to see how Mr. Manly Mamet handles lesbians.

That Cheese Curd game is making my carpal tunnel flare up...but damn, they do sound like good eatin'!

They are good eating. And now the wife is home and I can't go down there and sneak some.

I think I'll post a review of the play, but Mrs. CB is so much better at that.

I only got into writing fanfic a year ago, and SVU ia all I've written. I'll have to re-aquaint myself before I attempt a X/G pairing. Which only gives me another excuse to lay around on my fat ass and watch TV :)

I'm really concerned that I'll be harrassed again when I return. It was very ugly 2 years ago...a couple people act like I plan it to have every other summer off. I can't help it I am odd-year cursed.

I did ask if Tim Hortons had carb-free donuts...
