We made our first trek to the pool today. I actually swam 10 lengths which I thought was a good start considering I haven't done much more than a slow-paced walk over the last month. We were sitting at the edge, catching our breath, when an older woman (we were no doubt the "youngsters" in the pool)came up and started talking to us. I had a hard time keeping a straight face, because she reminded me of "Madame" from Madame's Place.

And when she asked if we were related-because god knows we look soooo much alike- I told her that we were partners. "Oh I think it's wonderful you came out and said that," was her response. Very open-minded for someone who looks like a puppet.

This weekend is our Gay Pride Celebration, so of course, it is already 90 F out. Mrs. CB wants to go to Rocking In The Street tonight. Depending on how hot it gets (I'm a wuss in the heat) and how my back feels, I may try to go. The Parade is tomorrow, but she'll be out of town, so I'll probably just stay home.

I need a nap.

"are you two sisters?"

That is a very good start!

I had a hard time keeping a straight face, because she reminded me of "Madame"

At least she didn't look like Lambchop.

she asked if we were related-because god knows we look soooo much alike

Hahahahaha...I love it when they do that. Something similar once happened to us:

Asian shopkeeper: Are two you sisters?

Me (very fair, blue-eyed): Um...

Her (black hair, brown eyes, olive complexion): ...No.

One of the things I love about CB is how open she is. Donna, aka Madam, asked me first and all I said was, "No we're not."
Donna had a funny remark. She said, "I think that's great. I wish everyone would tend to their own gardens! Some people like rutabegas and I don't. So what, not everybody eats rutabegas. You look happy."

10 lengths!?! Excellent CB!
And! to reward you for your swimming endurance skills, I am using- for this special occasion only- my Dead Sea mud bath (in a bathing suit) icon-made for me by the gf.

(as you can see, I sort of look like a puppet and though I can't think of which one, I am quite open-minded.

Bwahahahaha! Well it looks like you kept yourselves occupied. Actually, it looks kinda fun :)

My goal is to swim 10 laps in the next 2 weeks, 25 laps in the next month. I may hit the indoor track and walk too. It's too damn melty-hot here to go outside. :(

heh, occupied? We were sadist tourists! We stayed in Tel Aviv Fri-Sun, then we traveled around the country through Friday. This photo was from Thursday, when we did Masada and the Dead Sea. That's why I haven't posted pics yet, I have so many, I am afraid everyone will be bored to death looking at them. I have no idea which to post.

Yay for 10 laps! And for open-minded puppet people. (That seems like an oxymoron.) I hope you can enjoy some of the weekend - do they have air-conditioned Pride? :)
