The Good and The Bad

Mom just e-mailed...her biopsies came back negative. Thank God and thanks to everyone that said a prayer.

While this is great news, my dad called yesterday to tell me that my 40 yr old cousin has mouth cancer and it may have already spread to his bones. I just saw him a few weeks ago at a small reunion and we were talking about how lucky our family was that everyone seemed healthy. I guess we jinxed ourselves.

Whew...glad your mom is okay, but I am very sorry about your cousin. (Jesus...mouth cancer? Does he smoke?)

I am not sure if he smokes because that side of the family "hides" their vices-no alcohol, tobacco, broads, bad language were present at any family gatherings. That's why I never quite felt comfortable at gatherings ;)

But if I remember correctly, he dipped snuff (he's a red neck prison guard)and chewing tobacco is WAY bad for you. That's whay I stopped using it. That and the brown teeth.

I'm hoping they have caught his in time...he's a good guy for being a red-neck.

Sometimes I do believe in jinxes but mostly I believe that things hapen and there is usually a reason for it, even if I can't see it.
