cabenson: (Question of the day)
[personal profile] cabenson
I am gonna try to bring this back. Can't quarantee it will be daily, but I will make the effort.

Mrs CB comes home from a long day of teaching inner-city kids and starts doing laundry or working in the garden. This is how she relaxes. I relax by cooking a great meal or laying down to read a book or watch the tube.

How do you relax/unwind from the daily grind?

Talk to my girlfriend, start shooting pucks, watch TV or some sort of a combo. That portable goal is perhaps the best investment ever. Heh.

Heh and in the living room too. Pales in comparison to shooting pucks on ice, but I'm not complaining. Any guesses on what was the first thing I bought to furnish my living room?
LOL

Usually, at the end of the week, having a cocktail or two. During the week, either vegging in front of the tube or going for a swim.

Calling [livejournal.com profile] bluepoet always relaxes me. :) Other than that I'm more the veg in front of the TV with my cat on my lap sort of person. If the weather is nice I'll opt instead for sitting on the balcony with the cat, substituting a radio for the TV.

happy hour after work is always a good way to decompress after a trying day

I also like to cook, but that's not usually when I'm tired

Reading and replying to email and journals is usually the first thing I do when I get home from work. A nice cuppa tea with a good email or journal can't be beaten. I don't usually watch TV unless there's something I regularly tune in to or if Nic is home she usually has it on. I tend not to read after a long day because it's difficult for me to concentrate which leads to frustration which isn't relaxing at all. XD However, it is my favorite I-have-nothing-to-do-today relaxation technique. :)

Ah... usually I come home and check journals, but if it's been a long day, I can't concentrate on words. Playing a video game or watching TV usually calms me down. And H nailed it with tea. Tea is the champion.
