We went to the fair Friday and walked FOREVER!! I took my required rest breaks and luckily, we found a couple of air-conditioned buildings to relax in. This as the first annual trip to the fair that did not end with me getting a heat/humidity induced migraine.

We checked out the antiques and the commercial buildings as well as the food displays. The daughter of some friends won 2nd prize with her Savory Taco Cheesecake. The Ugly Cakes were, well, ugly. We ate corndogs, cheese on a stick, Steak on a Stick, ice cream, lemon shake-up, roast beef sammich and corn bread. I was in line to get an elephant ear but it was taking too long. We grabbed about a pound of fun candy (including wax bottle for Mrs. CB-why yes, we are in fact 10 years old)and a slice of fudge for each of us. We were there four hours and I think we are going back...with the camera. I decided that I need to do a "Boobs of the State Fair" photo show because there were some seriously fine racks )as well as seriously "I don't need to see that" racks). Yes, I am a pig. I also want to get a deep-fried Twinkie or something on a stick. Okay! I am a gluttonous pig.

Last night we finally watched The Aviator. WOW! We loved it. In fact, we are off to do some walking at the mall and I am hoping to pick up a good biography on Howard Hughes. Leonardo DiCaprio has regained me as a fan...what a cute little ass he has. I was not impressed with Cate Blanchett at Katherine Hepburn, but Kate Beckinsale's Ava Gardner can warm my bed up anytime! And learning the history of The Outlaw? Mmmm...mammaries.

Anyway, off to walk in the air-conditioned and overly-priced Polaris Mall. There is a new movie theater up there with reclining seats so we may take in a pic as well.

A new movie theater opened up last week and this afternoon we decided to break it in. Yeah, so they were giving away free popcorn too. Whatever. It's a nice theater with 48" between rows (this long-legged girl says Thank you!)and semi-reclining chairs. Very comfortable for those of us with lower back pain.

We decided to see March of the Penguins and ohmygawd! So wonderful! I am not usually one to pay out money to see an animal documentary but I am glad we saw this. Beautiful imagery, narration courtesy of the velvet-voiced Motgan Freeman, and OMG squee!! Baby Penguins!! If you have the chance, go see it. Mrs. CB wants to visit Antarctica. I told her to go ahead, just leave me the check book.

Found a good Howard Hughes biography as well as an out of print graphic novel I have been trying to locate. Go me!

The Burning Bush just backed her bumperless 1988 van into Mrs. CB's ghetto Subaru. She scraped up the front bumper and cracked one of the front headlights. She has mentioned before that she has come close to hitting the car, almost insinuating it would be our fault if she did because we park on the street opposite her driveway. Nevermind the fact that she could back out the OPPOSITE way and wouldn't hit anything because of a fire hydrant being there. We don't block her driveway and only park on the street when one of us has to leave early. I suppose we could take to parking in our front yard like they do. There were 2 pickup trucks and a corvette parked in their front yard today. Did I mention that their front yard is maybe 200 sq yards? And has a tree? I am really starting to heeeeete them.
