cabenson: (Mrs. CB 2)
I thought you would all like to know that I can almost breathe through my nose again. My little bout with the flu left me with a secondary sinus infection and I am slowly returning to normal. Or at least as normal as I can be.

Yesterday, I watched the 1980 movie, John Carpenter's The Fog. Adrienne Barboobbeau was in it- damn I used to crush on her in mad way. And she still looks damn hot today-and she's two years older than Mama CB! Anyway, the movie actually had a great story, but I think the cuts made to show it on Sci-Fi made it look bad. Or it could really be a sucky flick. I am waiting for the cougharrivalcough of the 2005 version for comparison.

We met up with [livejournal.com profile] artskat and her better half this weekend. Mrs. CB continued on with them to a cabaret show while I took my still ill self home. Yesterday Mrs. CB said that Artie wanted to know if I wanted to go to a whore convention. Uh, hell YES! Then Mrs. CB clarified her pronunciation-it's a "horror" convention. That's really not the same at all, now is it. I will have to think about it-that is the weekend before we go to NYC and I am sure to have a ton of shit to do in preparation. Not to mention finishing up my fic for Epic Proportions.

Speaking of NYC, we are going to see my second beloved, Stephanie March, in her new play, Talk Radio. I think Liev Schreiber is fabtastic and I am looking forward to seeing him as well. And then there is Mr. Mariska to watch out for. So, I get my SVU fix and Mrs. CB gets, well...pirate queens.

And, speaking of Broadway, WICKED will be in Columbus this summer. I made a spur-of-the-moment suggestion to my niece that she and her sister should come to town to see the show with me. One girl is a tweener and the other, a sarcastic emo-taunting teen (kinda like me), so I soon began to question my own sanity until I received an email that started, "Dear sweet flipping Aunt". Oh, the bond between family generations created by movies and TV shows is strong at Casa Cabenson. Started with The X-Files when they were 4 and 5 (their crazy ass mother let them watch it, hell my nephew wanted to be "Flukeman" for Halloween one year!), and continues today with my niece sending me trailers for the new Hannibal the Cannibal movie.

Oh, we finally got some snow yesterday. About 3 inches with a little bit of freezing rain. There really is something magical about going to bed and waking up to a snowfall, magical that is until you have to take your ass out into it to get a week's worth of groceries. Mrs. CB was missing her Subaru yesterday, but I found that the Toyubaru can handle the job just as well.

Okay, I have bored you enough. And I need wine.
