I got a call from my sister yesterday. My brother-in-law left for his second deployment to Iraq and she was upset. Unfortunately, I was at the vet with Mr. Goopy Eye and All I got was a tearful message.
So we will try to keep in touch with him via e-mail and find out what they need and send as much as we can. Our Blue Star Banner will go back in the window and we'll devote more time to reading and watching the news about troop movements.
As much as I say I don't support Bush and this war, I often fail to mention that I most definitely support the troops.

Thanks for the reminder.

Date: 2005-02-02 09:41 pm (UTC)In all the debate that goes on concerning Iraq, the troops really do get caught in the middle, both justly praised yet conveniently ignored (i.e., equipment shortages). And those of us back here become numb to the images we see of them on TV; they become another part of the landscape of war. They deserve better than that.
