Right on the money, yo!

When Mrs. CB and I got together and realized that we were in it for the long u-haul, we went to an attorney. We had our wills updated, gave each other not only legal power of attorney, but also medical durable power of atty (I think that is the term), a healthcare power of atty and signed living wills. We added an addendum that any family member that challenged the partner, was automatically disqualified from receiving anything from the deceased's estate. Our lawyer did everything she could to protect our partnership.

And I agree with the irony. They should have been shouting out to teen girls that "this is what anorexia and bulemia can lead to".

What an awesome attorney, and thanks for the reminder of what all needs to be done. I keep telling myself I'll do it soon enough, but now more than ever, I'm reminded of why this is something to not put off.

And: Word on the eating disorder. Oh, the irony... Been there, and Terri is a reminder of what could have happened and why it's important (and ok) to be where I am today with food.

She was not gay, but she had put together quite a few legal arrangements for Teh Gayze.

The steps you and your gf took is a very huge step in a relationship. I guess you can say its the legal version of gay marriage in the US, wouldn't you agree?

I suppose a protecting-the-other way it is. We saw that 2nd version of "If These Walls Could Talk" that was Lesbian relationship centered. When we saw Vanessa Redgrave get tossed out by her deceased partner's nephew, we knew we never wanted the other to experience that.
