Sporty Dyke kind of Sunday
Feb. 27th, 2005 02:50 pmWe went to get groceries today, one of those "Let's stock the cupboards" kind of trips. It's funny hoe Crunch-n-Munch Butter Toffee always seems to sneak into the cart when we aren't looking. And nothing makes shopping more fun than speculating on the conversations that go on between our 5 cats. Greyson has such a gay boy lisp...
We have our final home bball game this evening. It's a rare event when we play after 2:00pm on a Sunday, but the men's team is currently getting their ass whipped, and their game is being televised live. I just want to go on the record and say that I think it sucks ass when a highly ranked (#4/6) women's team, a potential Final Four team, is rarely shown on national TV and a self-sanctioned, struggling men's team pre-empts local CBS programming. Hey Ohio State! Start paying the advertising bucks for women's sports and maybe you won't have the NCAA constantly investigating the men. Asshats. Naw, I ain't at all sorry to see Andy Geiger "retiring".
Back to the game this evening. We are playing Penn State for a share of the Big-Ten Championship. All 19,200 seats, and I am sure that 13,000 were bought by dykes cause this is how we all socialize;), have been sold- the first sell out crowd for a women's game since 1993 (Katie Smith...le sigh). I have on my scarlet, I have on my gray. My Rally Towel is cleaned, pressed and ready to go. We willpound Rene Portland back into her lesbo-hating world display a sportsman-like attitude at all times. I am a Buckeye and victory will be ours.
Also Senior Day. Hate to say goodbye to Caity and Beth. Watching Caity play as a freshman convinced us that we needed to buy season tickets. We have been lucky enough to sit in front of her family for the last two seasons. I will miss her mother yelling, "Pass the ball, Brandie!!"
I am looking forward to watching as much of the Big Ten Tourny as possible next week as it appears that Mrs. CB will be heading home for post-funeral stuff and I don't have to go. Yay! God help you all when March Madness begins!
