I just got home from voting. I drove to my polling place directly from work and found myself in a line 2 hours long. Once past the initial dismay of having to stand so long, I took notice of my fellow voters. No one was complaining, people were laughing and smiling and the school where I voted was having a bake sale. But I have to say that the best thing about voting today is that I only watched 2 people walk out because of the wait. And when I left, people were standing in the rain for an hour just to get into the school. I have never been more proud to be an American.

Oh, and one more thing. In my district, the poll workers are always middle-aged or elderly women that walk as though they are in great pain. Today, we had a beautiful young woman working the polls. THANK YOU JESUS!! Two hours goes by VERY quickly when you are eyeballing Teh Prettay. Yes, I am a Shallow American. Thank god Mrs. CB voted this morning.

Where I voted, everyone was ugly and we didn't get stickers. *pouting* But, I did get to talk to a friendly woman with pink hair. And, I also saw what you saw...people were generally a-ok with the wait because they knew it was important (and everyone behind me kept talking about how important the election was). While I was there, the only people who left were those who finished voting already. I wish we'd had a bakesale, though!
