How I met Mrs. CB
Jan. 15th, 2010 03:01 pmIt was Friday, October 27, 1999 and I was supposed to go to my BFF's triple party. We were celebrating Halloween, her partner's birthday, and the fact that my BFF had just received her Ph.D. I was coming down with my annual autumnal sinus infection and besides being exhausted,I had to work very early the following morning, so I wasn't up for a party. Had my BFF not received her doctorate, I would have bailed, but she applied the guilt and I went.
I had no costume, but I was big into Xena at the time and another friend had given me a cool Tshirt for my bday:

"I slept with Xena". I told everyone I was Gabrielle :)
At the party, I noticed this short chick dressed up as a cross between Marlena D/Victor & Victoria/an undertaker:

She had a fine rack!
Turns out she was good friends with my BFF's partner, and like most lesbians in Columbus, we knew some of the same people. I liked her, she was pretty, she appeared to be sane, and she had a steady job. But when she put her arm around me on the couch and mentioned we should go out sometime, I jumped up and made my exit. Such a wuss!
Anyway, we talked a few days later (she had gotten my number and called me at work) and made plans to see a flick with my BFF and her partner. I can remember that she smelled SO good!Bath and Bodyworks FTW!! We had a great time and decided to try it again, without chaperones. On our first date, we saw "Dogma" and I spent 40 of my last $60 on dinner. We grabbed coffee after dinner and strolled along Grandview Ave and talked. Then I took her home.
We have been together ever since.

So glad you tried an unchaperoned second date though. You two are lovely together!
