Hello Darlings!

The cats got me up extra early this morning. They were actually jumping IN bed to snuggle, but in doing so, their fat landed on my fat and woke me up.

So here I am.

We are gonna try and get some errands run this morning including our first spring trip to Lowes for garden stuff. Mrs. CB has been spending a little time each day cleaning away winter's touch and preparing the space for pretty flowers and such. And for the 8th year in a row, I am trying to decide what we should do with our back patio. It's an odd space, 10' wide and about 40' long. I want some cool lights and some sturdy furniture and a place for the small (desktop actually) water fountain I fought so hard for at our department holiday white elephant party.

Tonight we are going to see some friends perform in "Company". I'm not that interested in the show and my rl bff is being dragged to it by her partner so we are hoping that we can help each other get through it. The things we do to support our friends. Of course it could be like that time [livejournal.com profile] theholyinnocent, myself and our spouses were at Cafe Vivaldi listening to "Friend Me" and trying not to laugh out loud. I probably shouldn't drink before we go.

On a different note, hey fandom...WTF is wrong with you? Posting 63 stories to a com in one day? I suppose it wouldn't be bad if it was an adult pairing, (actually , yes, it would) but HP fic is usually underage and that gives me the squicks.

And SVU, I think we need to start seeing other people. For good this time. What a shitty waste of having Alex Cabot back.

And some more...Jessica Leccia is not an acting goddess that is gonna bring salvation to some crappy primetime show. She is good, but seriously peeps, this isn't her vehicle to drive to stardom. I hope she gets a lead on a decent show sometime in the future.

And that brings me to Otalia/Venice/DOOL/Crystal Chappell. Yeah, I think I'm over that. I really enjoyed the Otalia story and I doubt there will be another love story like that seen on TV or Web anytime soon. Venice, well lets's just enjoy our little break. Sure, I'll take you back when you start flashing twitpics of GoG action and pretty Osmond-like boy smilers, but it better be well written this time or we're done. DOOL-I'll catch the recaps and YT clips when I am laid up again. Just can't get into another soap. BUT!!! if you were to gay up Carly, I would reconsider. CC, well I think you finnally got the message that you needed to "simmah down" and you appear to be acting like a normal person again. Please don't feed the crazees. They scare me!

Scary? Where is my sock monkey fic?!

Okay more news. Mrs CB and I are going to Virginia Beach in June for a my niece's graduation and a mini vaca. We are staying in a small hotel one block from the ocean. I haven't stepped into the oean in 22 years. I am so looking forward to it. It will be an interesting trip, especially if the rest of my family decided to go to the graduation too and stay in the area. Thank god it's a short one-we fly in Fri afternoon and fly out Mon afternoon. Then I have the rest of the week off to recover.

Speaking of recovery, I slipped a disc in my back in January. I did two rounds of steroids and that helped it slip back in the night before my MRI, but it as still protruding a little. Did PT and learned how to alleviate some of the pain, but also learned that the back is pretty much a lost cause. The MRI report showed damage in every lumbar disc. I don't even want to know what is going on in the thoracic and cervical spine...

Well, I guess that is it for now. Gotta go get ready to run errands so I can get back for March Madness. Remeber when that used to mean Alex Cabot?

Posting 63 stories to a com in one day?

Oh boy. I think we both got hit with the same wave of storystorystorystory. I left a comment to the effect of "There's a better way, dude." Ugh.

oh my god... when I went to bed Thursday night that person had posted like 20 HP fics to P&P, and she was still at it this morning when I got up. Also, isn't HP fic not to be posted on P&P, or is it that ralst just doesn't host any on her site? I'd always thoght HP fic wasn't posted at the comm...

I want my friends page back!

Oh, you are coming to Va Beach? Nifty :) Hope you enjoy. I've been here a month and... know how to drive to the naval base in Norfolk and back, and the location of the nearest Barnes and Noble. When you are down here though, if you get hte chance, you should check out this restaurant called Fire and Ice down near the waterfront. It is really good

Good luck with your back! Does not sound fun at all :(

Bwhahaha...behave yourself tonight. Actually, I'm sure Sondheim will put you right to sleep.

I don't even want to know what is going on in the thoracic and cervical spine...

That's where the sock monkey party pad is! "How ya like me noooooow????" God, no wonder your spine is trashed!

You mini-vacay sounds sweet. I've never been to Virginia Beach, so you'll have to let us know how it is. Hope you guys have a great time!

Good luck on the patio project...we've spent nearly 10 years trying to figure out what to do with our space and still haven't a clue.

Yeah, I'm def. over Otalia/Venice/etc. Otalia was good when it was good, and spectacularly bad when it was bad. And I'm just not willing to invest (financially or emotionally!) in Venice. I love CC & JL, wish them well, admire them for giving it a go, but...we'll always have the gazebo, Bud.

(Is it sad that I miss making fun of Reva so much? Don't answer that.)

And SVU is a massive waste of SM. Hell, SVU is a massive waste, period. I hate it for eclipsing whatever fond memories I had of my 'ship and my show. Asshats.

She wrote me poetry!

She has a poet trying to get out, I tell you.

'Company' is hard... it is a bit boring. Not to worry... theatre - a great place to sleep! Explains why I slept so much during my first undergraduate degree (in theatre)!

I hear you on the fandoms. I can barely watch SVU anymore. Hey, though, thanks for reminding me of PandP... I forgot all about it! I have to confess that just recently my mother has become obsessed with Doctor Who Fic (she obsessively loves Doctor Who) and it's turned me slightly off fan fiction... not sure why... better not to examine it. I'm sure I'll come back around to Fanfic by the time I turn 72.

Wow, that's a lot of posting on P&P!!! I've been offline the last couple of days and had no idea.

On another note, the sock monkey fic is stuck at 2300 words. :(

Sock monkey fic: The Gin was a Blessing

The sound of incessant buzzing awakened me out of the shell of sleep that I had fallen into after three too many gin fizzes the night before. Every one of them rushing to twist out my tangled brain fibers, making pliant what last week was softer than the 3 ply in the loo at the Ritz. It was all a sodding mess. All because of a tryst on 600 count Egyptian, the silk argyle of my dreams, left behind after an innocent play date. She played the damsel, I gallant. She accepted my bandanna as if it were monogrammed linen and softly dabbed- all the while stroking my billowing chest. Before long, I was playdough in her hands. Imprinted in memory, her thin silky heel touching my rough red. How was I to know that it was all a ruse? Her tortoise shell button eyes never revealed her plan to play me a fool, a small child's plaything. I could no sooner spit out the cotton in my mouth or pluck out the eyes that were sewn so securely by my maker though I would will it so this cold morning than repeat my folly. My legs have never been so limp, my arms so floppy. She knocked the stuffing out of me. All that is left of them is a pale farmer's tan of uncouth eggshell, ridged, marking the way I spent my night, stuffed unceremoniously into the drawer and slammed shut, halfway in and halfway out. She must have had quite the snicker at my shortcomings. How could I know. I couldn't feel a thing.

heeeeeeheeeee
I am praying for something on tv to inspire us like old SVU and Bab 5 did. It's a waste. Good thing there is march madness and handball to entertain me, else I use my boredom to ends as this---trying to get thee to smile a little through the back/neck pains.
