I have a raging cold. Anyone else suffering out there? I'm gonna hit it with some alcohol this afternoon. Alcohol, football, and snuggly kitties whether they feelin like snuggling or not.

So what's new? I had the opportunity to apply for a new position at work. Supervisory specialist in a department where I had tons of experience when I worked at The Hell Lab. Decided that I didn't want to give up my evenings and nights tho, so I passed. Glad I did. Last January, after blowing another disc in my back, I decided to go part time. My boss suggested shorter days because she wanted me there every day, but leaving early hasn't been beneficial to the department. Working five days a week hasn't been beneficial to me. So, we agreed on a change and starting in 2 weeks, I go back to 4 days a week, 8 hrs a day. Mondays are now my favorite day cause I don't have to go in to work!!! I'm really happy about this-no change in money cause I am working the same hours. My boss even thought I'd enjoy the extra day to "do that video stuff you like". So after 4.5 years, I may finally gain some time to write and vid again.

And...I got the week between Christmas and New Years off. I have to work Christmas but now that I am officially part time, I get double time. I also volunteered to work the day after so my work wife could have her fiest Xmas weekend off in 3 years. But from 3:00pm Dec 26 through 7:00 am Jan 3, I will be on vacation!!!! What to do, what to do!!!! I wish we could go to NYC....

Okay, off to grab a shower, eat some cold medicine then work on some vids until football starts.

Oy, I am sick, too. Lost my voice last Friday, slowly honey-tea-ed it back into existence throughout the week, developed a cough, and lost it again last night. It's unpleasant. The wine makes it less so. I hope your alcohol and kitty-snuggling remedy works!

I think it's great that you passed on the new position. If it isn't actually benefiting your life in a significant way, then why bother? Also, it sounds like you have made a pretty good arrangement with your boss where you're at, and you'll even have some time to be creative! Go you!

I don't have a cold, but my sinuses have been terrible over the past few weeks, particularly at night.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to work only 4 days a week! /jealous. I could get so much done. BUT...I do have Thanksgiving week off, and 2 weeks off @Christmas/New Year's. So yeah, if you guys want to scratch that NYC itch, come on up! Teh Rockettes say HAI.

w00t! Oops, not for being sick, but for the 4 day work weeks to come. That ought to go a long way in curing your cold. Well, that and the alcohol. :)

I've had a weird assed fever that comes and goes, but it seems to have left me - for good, I hope. I've got the week of Thanksgiving off and two weeks off at Christmas - week before and week after. I'd loved to get some writing done, but my muse has a serious case of ADD. Oh, look! A chicken! ;)
