Ah, cold and flu season, you have officially arrived and yes, kicked my ass. Woke up yesterday with a nasty head cold-you know, the kind that is so bad you can't read, sleep, watch tv or anything cause the congestion is so severe and painful. Repeating a lazy day today. Hopefully, my friend Mucinex-D will help.

Finally got the holiday decorations down and our family pics back up. Need to update the sister's kids-oldest nephew is almost 20 now and the pic I have of him is aged 11. And very grateful that we didn't need to relegate Artie's pic to the "memorial" wall. He has made an absolutely stunning recovery. We have one more week of meds for him and then he should be done. We are giving him malt every day to help with the hairball issues. I really don't want to get him groomed: cats just don't take that as well as dogs do.

Didn't get the job I was hoping for. Rather bummed about it because it was supposedly "very close" between me and a co-worker. She got it because she is already familiar with a certain computer program and I am not. What really gets me is that I was planning to make this job a career-she is only planning to do it for a year or so to "get experience that will make her marketable". Whatever. The job hunt resumes. I'll keep looking till I find something I actually enjoy doing.

Nothing much else going on here. Working on a vid for my buddy Few, and thinking about whether I can actually pull off Ralst's Epic Proportion challenge this year. Now that I have Mondays off, maybe I can. I have been trying to write My Alex Cabot returns fic for about five years now.

Digging watching Netflix and YouTube on my big screen thanks to a wireless Blu Ray DVD player I got with all my Christmas $$$. I think Mrs. CB was surprised yesterday when we were going through all the titles we could watch instantly. And watching "Inception" in Blu Ray? AWESOME!!!!!

Re-reading Patricia D Cornwell's first Scarpetta book, "Postmortem". Her early works were SO much better than the last few years. I enjoyed the last three books she wrote in the series, but none of them hold a candle to the earlier books. In fact, I am gonna sign off here and go snuggle with Artie and read some more.

Sending along get well wishes. :) And you are so right about Cornwell's books. I finally gave up on them. Everyone is so damned depressed in the last several books that I didn't want to spend time with them anymore. Her earlier books were brilliant.

The best thing about Inception were the special effects. Loved that floating fight scene in the hotel.

That sucks about the job, but going through the interview process is always a useful experience. I think that you'll find the job that fits you. If not, I know Mrs. CB will continue to support you in the style in which you are accustomed, particularly once she & her guitar make it big.

Bummer about the job, but you know, if your coworker is just going to fill it until she finds herself more marketable, it may open up again. I'll cross my fingers for you!

I totally hate illness. When I find myself feeling poorly, I make a date with Prince Nyquil. It's not quite like having a handsome stranger bump your junk... but it does help you make it through the day.

Hey... sorry you didn't get the gig you wanted. From where I sit... they were not worthy of you. Hopefully they'll remember you once Ms. Marketable moves on and you'll be MILES past needing their paltry gig.

Netflix and BluRay are my top two flavors on Earth. Modify BluRay with "porn"... and you'll unwrap my third...

I'm hearing good things about "Black Swan". You?

Smooches!
