So I read the book and looking at all the metaquote posts, I am getting the impression that the HP ship wars are as bad as the A/O vs E/O SVU wars.

While the story was typical JKR writing, the editing sucked. Several obvious examples of word misuses, but the worst was this line:

US Copy, Chapter 22, page 485

"Had a house-elf taste every bottle after what happened to your poor friend Rupert"

Uh, I think you meant Ron. Rupert is the name of the actor who portrays Ron in the films. The person that let that slide probably posts on MH boards about how "OB can't be gay because she is married in real life."

And for the curious, yes, I am the Half-Blood Prince.

The best thing about all the Harry Potter mania was watching The Daily Show the other night. Rob Corddry was commenting on the accidental early sale of 14 copies of the book in Canada and decided to test the security of local bookstores. Loved it when he pretended to be JKR wearing a dress, blond wig and using a Southern accent. Ah, good times with wine, people.

Went to a friend's house last night and had multiple margaritas. The alcohol content increased exponentially with each pitcher made. And they were fucking tasty too. The hosts throw these parties now and then and they always play a "game". Last night was "Pin the heart on Mrs. Smith's Lips" played with a recent Angelina Jolie movie poster and heart-shaped post-its. We had to leave before we got a chance to play, but, uh yeah, that poster would look nice in my office. REAL nice. In case anyone was wondering what to get me for Christmas;)
