Adios 2005!, Hello 2006!

cabensonSo we've come to the end of another year and I am rounding the corner on another decade in my life. It's funny how I always thought I'd never live past 28...and I'm well past that now.
2005 was not the best year for me, at least physically. An impromptu dance for my better half resulted in a pinched spinal nerve which in turn, required major surgery. No sooner had I rehabbed my back and returned to work than I was hit with a cancer scare. I was lucky...so many others are not.
I lost some friends in 2005 and I truly regret that. But I also gained some new friends and cemented old relationships. Mrs. CB has been a rock and still keeps me around even though I am often a surly bitch. She has no choice; she can't program the DVR ;) My boys have been healthy and our house stands firm. Our friends and families are happy and healthy and we really can't ask for more than that.
I have found my muse in the form of a Scottish temptress and have fallen for yet another OTP. I have also taken to speaking with a Scottish accent the minute vodka touches my lips :) I have watched the SVU fandom falter as the MH boards came crashing down in the usual fight between the different factions of her fans. And I can't say as I care. I have been teased with the return of Mrs. CB 2 to the small screen, but I am taking a wait-and-see attitude.
And now I am getting ready to end this year in style. Friends over for a nice dinner then out to a club to ring in the New Year. There will be boozing, bitching, snarking and snogging...just the way it should be.
