cabenson | Fandom Update

I have a beautiful spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove as I await Mrs. CB’s arrival home from her university class. Since I have a few minutes, I thought I’d do a fandom update on what I have, and have not been enjoying the last couple months.

First, a projects update. I am finally able to check two items off of my “Fandom To Do” list:
1. A/O vid for The Femslash Advent Calendar (Dec.23rd)
2. My A/O story for P&P’s 5000 party-(have it to you by Fri pm, Ralst)

I am planning a few more vids including an Army Wives, and possibly a WMC. Then I have The Epic A/O and the Sam/Janet HoYay Hall of Fame. Hopefully I’ll have these done sometime within the first part of 2008.

Reaper-Damn! Sam Cavanaugh grew up…to play another character named Sam. I really like this cross between Jay and Bob and X-Files. It’s an interesting concept (parents sold Sam’s soul to the devil and on his 21st bday, he becomes Satan’s bounty hunter) AND I LOVE THE “VESSLES” THEY USE-A Dirt Devil Hand vac, a meat thermometer, a snow globe and last night, am 8-track tape. Well written, humorous with a touch of morality added for flavor. I give this show a whopping 8 Hooters.(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)

Law and Order: SVU- Damn! I really thought they could pull it together this year, especially with the Benson Hair Cut of Butchiness. Too bad they couldn’t get her wardrobe in synch. Now, I’m a rough and tumble kinda gal, and I occasionally want to actually look like a girl, but not frilly, flowery shit. It detracts from The Fabulousness and I struggle to stay with the storyline, but that could be due to the fact that they are lame re-hashes of shit they have already done. I swear the serial killer in last night’s ep reminded me of the serial killer in “Countdown”, right down to their jumpsuit wearing appearances at a grave. I’ll keep watching but only to gain fodder for future Olivia vids. I give this season 4 Hooters (0)(0)(0)(0)

Bionic Woman- Damn! Having grown up crushing on Lindsay Wagner who portrayed the original, I am struggling to stay interested on Jaime Sommers 2007. Despite the hotness of Katee Sackhoff (and Molly Price-quell surprise!), I can’t seem to get past the asstasticness that is Isaiah Washington (and his character), and the unexplainable absence of Fembots and Bigfoot. I give this show 5 Hooters only because I’m holding out for a Fembot. (0)(0)(0)(0)(0)

Stargate: Atlantis- Damn! I am missing Weir but I am SO digging Sam and her girl hair! I have enjoyed all of the eps so far except last weeks involving the memory loss. And this week has NewDoc and Teyla playing survival games together. Why of why did we never get an ep like that with Sam and Janet  It’s still early in the season, but I love this show like whoa, so I give it a big 8 Hooters because I know there is room for improvement. They’d get 10+ if they could bring Janet back.(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)

Women’s Murder Club-Damn! Angie Harmon looks FINE! I was on the fence (but willing to fall because of AH in leather) after the first ep, and I’m glad I stayed with it. Each ep has become progressively better as the friendships and The HoYay grow. I am already seeing a small division in the fandom in regards to Lindsay/Cindy vs. Lindsay/Jill. I admit I prefer L/J only because Jill is growing on me. She is AlexCabotLite and I really enjoy the way she and Lindsay feel so comfortable around each other-to the point of planning their retirement life…together! Cindy is okay, but she just seems so young. Or I am too old and don’t want to be thinking about youngstuff! in that manner lest I be labeled a big perv. And then there is Claire. Girlfriend had me at her skull candy jar. I see major potential for this show and fandom. I give this a bodacious 9 Hooters(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)(0)

I’m gonna try to watch Grey’s Anatomy this week-Mrs. CB 2 is guest starring and they made Brooke Smith a regular cast member. I love the snarky characters she has been playing recently.
