In a perfect world, the Holidays would be a wonderful time to spend reconnecting with family.

In CB's world, the Holidays are filled with mediating between my mother and my sister's family, paranoia, and feelings of disappointment.

Someone adopt me, please!

I can adopt you. BUUUUUUT you have to pledge allegiance to the Wolverines and write a fic for every year that you're a Buckeye fan for penance.

No? I didn't think so. :P

Well, if you're willing to wash dishes, you're hired adopted. I'm sure Bo won't mind having a new playmate...

And ruin your happy union by taking away the chore you both love so much?

Never.

Is it proper to adopt someone older than oneself? If it is, I'm there for ya stud! But then you need to put up with this dysfunction that is my extended family... might be best to stick with the evil you know - just sayin'

Ah, to paraphrase the current administration:
There are known evils.
There are unknown evils.
There are unknown evils that we know are potentially evil.
There are unknown evils that we don't know are truly evil.
The latter tend to be the ones that give us the most trouble.

CB? Ever think about just sitting back with a glass of wine and allowing the fur to fly? Just a thought...

I would, but between the teetotalers and the crazies and the Southern Baptists and the gossipy busybodies and the Republicans in my family, you'd be trading down.

Aw... I'd adopt you. But, I assure you-- it wouldn't alleviate the complexity as far as families go.

Here's hoping your Holidays will turn out exactly as you wish. :)

[livejournal.com profile] bluepoet and I will adopt you! And our families are the good kind of crazy, most of the time. Plus, I have a cousin who works for a liquor distributor and brings good wine to family parties. :)

I have 5 sisters--so long as you love roast pork you can totally just walk in and say "hi papi!" and my dad will assume you're one of his kids.

we'll adopt you, CB> That's why the Beloved and I got together so I can avoid my family at Christmas. It's been three solid years since I've had to remember whose turn it is to ruin Christmas and it's a wonderful feeling. You and the Mrs swing by and we'll hook you up. You can still even root for the Buckeyes, just remember that the huskers will be making a come back any year now.
