Wednesday Wallowings
Aug. 20th, 2008 09:01 amI am sitting here in my home office, drinking coffee and eating PopTarts while the kitties enjoy the last few minutes of open windows before I shut them all and turn the AC back on. Why am I home? Today is Doomsday for Mrs. CB. In three hours, we will be checking her in at Outpatient Services for a butt-tubing. That's right people, she's having a colonoscopy and it can't be over soon enough -for either of us. And the patient prep for this procedure? Yeah, I'm not even gonna go there.
I will be playing the role of dutiful spouse (at least while she is conscious)and taking care of things at Casa Cabenson today. Therefore, I ask you to keep BOTH of us in your thoughts today as usually, I am the one being taken care of.
Had a disturbing dream this morning after Feline Alarm Cat finally realized that I was NOT getting up. I dreamed that we were taking my oldest niece to college, and when we got there we realized that she had nothing. Her parents had given her nothing-no food, no money for books, no computer, NOTHING. So me, Mrs CB, MamaCB and Niece were scrambling all over this huge, unfamiliar city trying to get her what she needed to get started. What does all this mean? Probably that she will be living with us her freshman year at The Ohio State University, providing she still wants to go there. We have two years....we have two years.
What else is happening? I am having more good days than bad days with the asthma, but they all seem to get worse as the day progresses. The lack of breathing makes exercising difficult, so I an going to try the yoga thing again and see if I can at least keep my spine stretched out.
Mrs CB returns to school next Monday and is wildly excited about being at a new school. I am wildly excited about her having other adults to talk to, because after 8 hours on the phone, I am not so into talking. Don't get me wrong, I love where I work, but anymore, I just hate telephones. I cringe when they ring at home, and that makes me think I shouldn't be in customer service.
In the fandom world, I may have one last fic to roll out before the new season starts. I am going to work on it some today while the wife is getting hosed. I have 2 vids in my mental queue, but they have taken a backseat as I have to actually sit at my PC to do them- stoopid back. I also need to get my fics moved over to my fic journal/comm so I can keep this place for my more mundane musings...and Fair Pics.
I need to come up with my annual "New Shows/Returning Shows I can't Wait to See" list- maybe next time.
Anyway, time to close up the windows. I have to admit, that since my snothole surgery 6 mos ago, my allergies have hardly bothered me, even when the atmosphere is "dripping with ragweed pollen" /NBC4 Weatherman. Of course my lungs have given out, but hey, a win's a win!
