Date: 2012-09-14 08:02 pm (UTC)For OUaT, my personal head cannon is that the only way for the curse to break completely (return to FTL) is for The Evil Queen and The White Knight/Savior to find true love with each other. Rumple wrote the curse with this particular safety valve as he, already knowing that Emma would be the saviour, determined that a relationship between Regina and Snow White's daughter could never happen due to too much hate/anger. Rumple needs to stay in the modern realm to find his son, but what he doesn't know is that Emma and Regina started to realize they have feelings other than hate for each other when they worked together to save Henry. They will wrestle with these feeling during Season 2, explore them in Season 3, break up in Season 4, then return to Fairy Tale Land after their wedding during the last episode of Season Five, when the show ends. I also believe that as with LOST, the creators will choose to end the show after 5-6 seasons.
