So I was bad. Not bad in a "help, my ass is in jail" way, or even in a "you are such a naughty girl, come get your spanking" way. I was bad in a snobby, SHALLOW, pretentious twat way. I know, you are all as shocked at my behavior as I was. Well, hopefully SOME of you are. The cats still aren't talking to me.

I have been looking at getting a new MP3 player for a while-I have beaten my old one up and now they make ones that play video?! I am so the hell there! I did a little research and found that the Microsoft Zune met my music and vid needs the best. They had one on sale-almost half off- at CompUSA which is my choice of store when it comes to purchasing computers or computer accessories. Well, my store is doing an inventory clearance as they are being closed down :( And the only Zune they had was...brown. Now I like brown, in fact, some of my favorite things are brown (coffee, chocolate, my favorite hookers) but this looked less like a lovely bar of chocolate and more like a rectangular turd. So I went elsewhere, found a black one and paid full price. I am a shallow whore.

Anyway, I have to say that I am very pleased with the performance of the Zune so far. It's much bigger and heavier than my old MP# palyer, but there is a 3" screen, so I can't bitch. Very user friendly (this is important as the user is often UNfriendly when things don't work), holds a ton of my shit, and I have a lovely pic of Mrs. CB Simone Lahbib as my backround. I am in the process of converting a bunch of files to add to it. Now if I get stuck on the plane for 20million hours, I 'll have at least 12 hours of entertainment. And Mrs. CB inherited my old SanDisk and is learning how to rip CDs and add music to HER player. If she likes it, and uses it as much as I did, I told her I'd upgrade hers for Christmas. Or her birthday. I can't make her too tech savvy, then she won't need my gimpy ass anymore.

We went to brunch with friends and their two kids this morning. It went surprisingly well-the kids seem to be better behaved as they age-who knew? It is cold and dreary here-perfect day to watch bball (GO BUCKS!!) and read...or write.

My belly is very uncomfortable. And big. Did one of you knock me up and not have the decency to tell me? Bastards :) I am friends with the DNA lab, lemme tell you.

Yay! My friend bought me a Creative Zen (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/867369/Creative_Zen_Vision_M_30GB_MP3_Multimedia_Player/Product.html) for christmas. She has a reputation for buying over the top things and while it's infuriating in that I don't know what to get her (somehow a box of chocs can't compare) I love my new zen that plays videos.

I love love love love it. Yes I am shallow. Mine is pink and it has Maura Tierney as it's screensaver. The single good thing about my lil business trip last month was getting to watch ER/Veronica Mars etc on my mp3 player.

Nah, if you're going to pay for it, you may as well get what you want. Chances are you're going to have it for a long time, and if you don't like it you won't use it or enjoy it as much. I think you made the right decision.

can't wait to hear full reviews of the player once you use it for a bit - quick question - does it have a port or connection or something for an USB or a compact flash card can be inserted?

Connection for a USB to sync files as well as charge the battery (which can pull power from your PC or can be used with a wall charger-I use the wall charger). They are coming out with souund systems that support all MP3 players, so I may look into that for Christmas. I really am very pleased with it.

PS. No worry, the "baby" was a stomach bug. Everyone is in the clear...for now.

ok - one last USB type question - can you plug a camera USA and drag photo files onto the unit?

(I'm looking for a portable hard drive to take while traveling to clear by photo cards)

Don't think so.No slots for any extra cards. I do believe Brookstone.com has a digital photo album. Mrs. CB got me one for Xmas and I can load upto 500 pics from a media card or the camera itself.
