Not too many of us that actually take Halloween off as a holiday ;) I am heading out to put up the crime-scene fence and then it's pumpkin carving time. While I'm out, ponder this:

What is your all time favorite scary movie?

Halloween- the entire series except for "Season of the Witch"

I'm too much of a fraidy cat to do most scary movies, but I do love creepy thrillers. "Silence of the Lambs" has always been a fave of mine. :)

wouldn't hurt a fly.

That shit was freaky.

Or Jaws. I still won't go in the water.

I'm not much into scary movies but there was one scene in the first 'Friday the 13th' movie that had me checking under my bed for hidden psychopaths for about three years. So I'll go with that one.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There's just something about the lack of polish to it that can almost convince me it's real. (It's not based on a true story, even though that's what they say at the beginning of the movie. Narrated by... John Laroquette of all people.) And a guy running after me with a chainsaw and a mask made up of the flesh of his other victims? Yeah, that freaks me out a wee bit.

I love scary movies! The first movie I ever watched that scared me was Carrie. I was about 14 at the time.

The 'Jaws' movies still scare the shit out of me. Silence of the Lambs is one of my favourite movies period. But I think I'd have to go with The Shining as my scariest favourite.

28 Days Later freaked me the hell out. Stuff about disease epidemics, nuclear apocalypse, and any other phenomena triggering societal breakdown really raises the hair on the back of my neck.

Alien

I'm also partial to the Evil Dead movies.

The Fly (the Jeff Goldblum one.) The idea of knowing that you're becoming a monster, and being completely helpless to do anything about it, is horrifying to me.
