Well, bite my ass!
Sep. 26th, 2006 12:20 amMrs. CB came home early from teaching her college class and we were getting things ready for tomorrow and having some tea when we realized that Greyson smelled like ass. Big time. Now, Greyson is not known for his corn-hole cleanliness, so Mrs. CB started to brush him, hoping that he may have had a small hanger-on matted in his butt fur. Greyson yelped like he was in pain, because he was in pain. Apparently, one of his brothers bit him in the ass...or rather the side of his tail, right near the base. And apparently, the bite abscessed. And I broke the abscess open when I had lifted him up earlier. I know this because the shirt I used to own now smells like ass.
So, at 9:45pm. I am hustling a nervous cat and a panicked Mrs. CB to our local Animal E.R. I give the cat credit, he behaved so very well...he was loving on the vet! Course she was cute and I'd a been loving on her too if Mrs. CB hadn't been there. So anyway, they shaved part of his tail and half of his ass (looks so damn funny) , cleaned the wound, gave him some kitty-pain meds and some antibiotics and we brought him home. Two and a half hours, we got home after midnight, but I'd still do it again in a heart beat.
We were the lucky ones tonight. I saw a husband leave his wife so he could go get their kids-they had to put their cat down and wanted to let the kids say goodbye. We saw another couple walk out without the pet they arrived with. We saw a dog that had been hit by a car wheeled in to an animal triage. Yeah, my favorite shirt was ruined, yeah, neither one of us is gonna get a good night's sleep, yeah, we have to struggle with giving the Big Sissy medicine for the next two weeks...but at least we got to bring him home. And that makes it all worth it.
So hug your pets today. Give them an extra treat. And if you don't have pets, well, I suppose you could hug your kids ;)And I am so gonna make a "Bite My Ass" icon from Greyson's pictures.
