How I almost set my pants on fire.
Oct. 25th, 2005 07:57 pmI have an MP3 player that I take to work (I need it to block out certain people who can do nothing but talk and bitch all day long.)My player uses a AAA battery and when it's getting low, I throw a couple extra in my pocket. Never had a problem until I got back from lunch today.
I sat down at my microscope and felt an immediate burning sensation by my front jeans pocket. Shut it, I do NOT have the clap! I checked my pocket to see if a stray piece of dry ice had gotten in there and the pocket was HOT! My change was hot, the batteries were VERY hot. Apparently, the batteries got wedged in with coins on each end and Mrs. CB tells me that is a science no-no. So, for future reference, if you are carrying spare batteries in your pocket...for whatever reason...don't put your change in with them.
I picked up my new glasses today and they look better than I remembered. Of course, when I am trying on glasses, they forget that I can't actually see what I'm looking at. I had to trust them, and they did good. They are a gun-metal half-frame, kinda retro, and they don't slip.
Off the rest of the week, gonna be writing, digging out Halloween shit and drinking more than usual.
