I slacked off on this as I began my recovery, but I think it's time to get back into the swing of things.
Today's question: Since summer in America=scarfing of hot dogs, how do you take your weiner? Favorite brand, how do you like it cooked, toppings, buns steamed or grilled?
My answer: I prefer BallPark Beef Franks grilled black (or fried in the winter) in a room temp bun with Stadium mustard (the brown spicy kind) and onions. Then I try to kiss the wife. Cause I am ev01 that way.And I prefer them at Clippers (Yankees AAA team) games. Dime-a-dog night is BUUUUUUURP great fun.

Date: 2005-07-06 02:11 pm (UTC)Regular hot dogs grilled enough to see the grill lines and be popping open, with ketchup and sometimes a little mustard. The best buns are the ones for Chicago-dogs with the seeds. Ohyum.
Also good are Pronto-pups, a breed of corndog with a slightly different batter on the outside that is so much better I don't even have the words for it. Ohsogood. I can't wait for our State Fair here so I can have some again. Ohyum.

Date: 2005-07-06 02:43 pm (UTC)If I am making them myself, then Great Dogs chicken dogs grilled almost black with sauerkraut and spicy mustard.
Any kind of ordinary white buns will do. (gosh, if I had a nickel every time i used THAT phrase... sigh)

Date: 2005-07-06 03:31 pm (UTC)If it's a "dirty water hotdog" from NYC, it's gotta be from one of carts up by Lincoln Center. Best hotdogs in the city.

Date: 2005-07-06 07:08 pm (UTC)That's the big thing at our fair, too, stuff on a stick. Pizza on a stick, hotdish on a stick, speghetti on a stick, pork-chop on a stick, steak on a stake (har-har), etc.
I love the state fair... *stomach growls*
But if they have deep fried corn on the cob on a stick DO NOT buy it. Grossest thing EVER. Ew.

Date: 2005-07-06 10:13 pm (UTC)I prefer beer, cheddar, or jalapeno brats with regular mustard.
If I have a weiner, it has to be like Tony Packo's--with the crispy casing still on it (distasteful to the misses) mustard and sauerkraut.
