Curiosity killed the cat?
Mar. 2nd, 2005 04:52 pmI just realized that I am approaching the one-year anniversary of being on LJ. With the exception of
invisible_sun (we'll miss ya Andy! Who will be Xenia:White Trash Princess at the Halloween parties?), I have gotten to know all of you through the Law and Order universes. So here are my questions for the day.
1. Prior to your LnO fascinations, what other fandoms did you follow?
2. Who did you ship?
3. Did you write fic for these other fandoms?
4. What do you think the next big ship will be?
I was a huge X-Files fan, then X:WP. I kinda fell into the A/O ship by accident.
I have only written for SVU.
I am hoping that TBJ will let me play with Amy Carlson...I have liked her since she played Josie on Another World.

Date: 2005-03-03 09:31 pm (UTC)Fandoms? None. L&O:SVU is the only fandom in which I participate in any active way.
However, I am/have been a much bigger fan (avid, squeeful viewer) of other shows like The Wire, Huff, Dead Like Me, Veronica Mars, Rescue Me, Sports Night, and so on. I watch too much TV.
2. Who did you ship?
I'm not much of a shipper. Eh, I guess Willow/Tara and Xena/Gabrielle. I wasn't horribly invested in either ship, but because W/T was main text and not BS subtext, I was heartbroken when they killed off Tara. Usually shows don't even have two female characters worth fussing over.
3. Did you write fic for these other fandoms?
Nope. I pointed and laughed at fandom activities. When active fans looked down their noses at passive fans, I laughed REALLY, REALLY hard. Now, I have to be quieter and humbler. Is that a word?
4. What do you think the next big ship will be?
Um, you mean for current L&O fans/shippers? And exactly how big does a 'ship need to be to qualify as "big"? Like, A/O is kind of a small 'ship compared to the BIG ones out there....
My problem is that (1) there are TONS of femslashy 'ships for shows I don't watch, usually with characters that are too young to interest me that way, (2) there are tons of great shows with great women characters, but the characters are the ONLY female characters on the show or are toooo het. Oy!
Possibilities (I'm still not too excited about):
*Bree/Lynette (DH)
*Sofie/Libby (Carnivale—almost main text!)
*If the show had survived another season, I could easily ship George/Betty (dead like me)
*Starbuck/Boomer (BSG)
I keep my eyes and ears open for Whedon and Noxon projects because they are sososo generous with the hoyay. I might even check out Point Pleasant. Mebbe.
