cabenson: (Question of the day)

We had a wonderful discussion at work today about music from the 70's, so I thought I would pass the following question on to my flist:

What is your favorite 70's tune and why? Does it inspire feminist empowerment? Does it remind you of a specific socio-political event? Does it tempt you with the evils of sex, drugs, booze and...disco? Does it make you want to grow a 'fro?

Tell me, tell the world. And if you didn't grow up in the 70's come her so I can smack ya with my cane, what 70's tune is your favorite golden oldie?

Question of the day...some oldies but goodies

Being a '65 model I spent the better part of my childhood in the '70's so here goes: (in no particular order)

1. Van Morrison - Into the Mystic
2. John Denver - Poem, Prayers & Promises; Rocky Mountain High
3. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Helplessly Hoping; Teach Your Children
4. ABBA - SOS; Mamma Mia; Waterloo
5. Carole King - Will You Love Me Tomorrow; It's Too Late
6. Carly Simon - Anticipation; Legend In Your Own Time
7. James Taylor - ALL OF IT!

and last but not least, the one hit wonder band of the decade:

8. Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight!
