Our journey began early Friday morning as surprisingly enough, there were no delays with our flight. In fact, we are pretty sure our pilot was attempting a speed record for flights between Columbus and NYC. As we have experienced in the past, most pilots slowly turn onto the runway, line up, then gun the engines for take-off. Not our guy- he whipped around that curve like a getaway car on two wheels and gunned that mother into the air. I didn’t even have time to get scared brace myself for takeoff. And the landing? Yeah, slam down and full brake. Power flying at its best and damned if I didn’t LOVE it!! We actually arrived 15 minutes early and made it into Manhattan at 12:30pm.

We asked for, and received, early checkin at the Westin in Times Square. We were very pleased with the room and OMG! Heavenly bed indeed! And the bathroom had a double shower head. I think I took at least two showers a day. At least!

We went to Sardi's where we had a lovely lunch complete with wine(we are decadent whores!)and tried to identify the charicatures on the walls. After lunch, we went back to the room and changed for our Night Out!

A trip to NYC is not complete without both a visit to the Met Museum and drinks with [livejournal.com profile] theholyinnocent and The Librarian. While waiting for THI and her spouse, we took in a quick viewing of a couple featured exhibits: Barcelona and Modernity:Gaudi to Dali which was very cool and Harry Burton's Photo's of the Discovery of King Tut's Tomb which I absolutely loved even thoigh I could not find the Stargate.

THI and her spouse met us for drinks (sangria and lavander martinis) and then we all headed out to Crispo Restaurant. What a lovely place and the food? DELICIOUS!! I am hoping THI will remember the wine she chose, I can't seem to recall the name. We all had wonderful pasta and then, OMG! the desserts: Zeppole(little fried donut balls) with chocolate sauce, panna cotta, creme brulee and chocolate pot de creme and gelato. I love desserts!.

After stuffing ourselves, we all taxied down to the Village and landed at Marie's Crisis, a very small piano bar where we all embraced our inner gay boy and sang along to show tunes. Now I know that you all want to see pics of THI and her better half, and this time people, I took along my camera. Here is a pic of [livejournal.com profile] theholyinnocent singing her guts out at the piano. If you can overlook the beard and mustache, you will see that she is very attractive and surprisingly talented when it comes to tickling the ivories. And her spouse reminds me of a whory Adrienne Barbeau circa 1979. They are a beautiful couple, my friends, and we had a blast with them.

A sauntering down Bleeker St looking for stuff, did us in and we all said goodbye and headed our separate ways. Mrs. CB and I headed back to our hotel and promptly crashed before 11:00pm. Getting old sucks!

*LOL*
sounds like ya'll had a wonderful time! The Barcelona exhibition looks marvelous.

I keep telling THI to lose the goatee, I think it actually makes her look balder. And, hmmm, that's odd... I seem to recall Mrs. THI sporting a serpent/heart-motif tattoo on her left breast-- I must be thinking of someone else...

looking forward to your day 2 pics :)

Haha! I think we may have discovered the source of the "Bald Mystery" and I will have to take full blame.

I am eager to hear this derived conclusion from one of you, because after learning ::boomingvoice:: THE TRUTH, I searched my memory for the source of my presumption, and I remembered why. :)

Okay, here is my explanation. When we were waiting to meet THI and Teh Librarian in 2006, having no idea what they looked like (yet suspecting THI was indeed a MAN!), we nervously searched our meeting ground for who we THOUGHT was THI. I kept an eye on this gorgfeous, but completely BALD chick who kept looking at me nervously. I remember whispering to Mrs. CB that I thought the bald chick was THI and she as too nervous to approach us Red-Staters.

We had completely forgotten this until we revisited the scene of the crime last week- I gave my explanation to THI and TL and laughs abounded . Mrs. CB went so far as to suggest that THI paid the bald chick to keep looking at us.

For the record, THI is NOT BALD! She does, however have a mustache and is 93% man.

HaHa! That is a really funny story... maybe that was it.

she as too nervous to approach us Red-Staters

well, that's interesting. Maybe it is because I hail from a blue-state that she took a running start and catapulted herself at me when we met. I was so embarrassed for her-- er, him.
